Majora's Mask! That's right. I didn't read everything, because because of the question here and I didn't want to spoil anything for myself on whatever the game was you guys were talking about.
I'm not sure EXACTLY what you're asking, Kizzi, so I'll answer spoiler-free...
You need certain masks to complete certain quests, so, yeah, if you obtain the mask too late to finish the other quest that day (this often happens), yeah, you need to go back in time. You keep your masks when you go back to Day 1 though.
I have a question also. How do I get rid of the mirror shield? It looks so ugly in comparison to the Hero's Shield. I already beat MM on file 1 so I don't need the mirror shield.
I mean I spent all three days trying to help that guy who was turned into a kid, but I ran out of time. what happened there?
That should probably be one of the last masks you get, because it's so long, so involved, and it includes so many different character, events and areas that it's easiest to do (though still not easy) after you've done a lot of other things first. (Vague enough for you?)
It is a really tough mask, and I confess it's the only one I haven't gotten (barring Fierce Deity of course). I blame that on the GC version rather than myself, though, as it kept locking up, and the quest takes so long to accomplish that I gave up restarting it.
Anyway, just keep checking your notebook and make sure you fulfill all of your promises regarding Anju and Kafei. They will sometimes ask you to meet them in certain places at certain times. Make sure you do that every time. Is there a specific moment or request you don't understand?
I did everything to the point where I gave that super important letter to Kafei's mom, then It didn't tell me what to do from there?

I haven't played it in a while so I can't say for sure, but this might be the point at which you need to go meet Kafei at the thief's hideout. When he gave you the letter for his mom, did he say something about going to get the mask back? It's been so long that I can't remember what he says...but at some point you need to meet him at the thief's place, nearly positive this happens toward the middle/end of day 3, and that's when you get the mask.
@Kizzi: The letter can be given to two people, Madame Aroma in the Milk Bar, or the Postman in his office. The postman will give you a hat, while Aroma will give you a bottle of Chateau Romani.

K. Well I gave the card to the postman who I followed to where he gave it Kafei's Mom, but I didn't get anything from her. I went outside, and I talked to the postman and he gave me his hat. THATS WHERE I STOPPED.(this was the first time) Where is the thiefs hideout?
