Conversations that I have with 'normal' people about gaming, tend to go like this...
Them - "I mostly play CoD and FIFA, as do most of my friends" Me - "Bleh. Have you tried Other: M, Red Steel 2, or No More Heroes 2?" Them - "Nope, never heard of 'em" Me - "OK bye now"
Nothing surprises me anymore, especially UK 'gamers' habits. >_>
It's not just the UK. US, too. The only difference is that we replace FIFA with Madden.
The Game.
Is it after 9PM EST? You should probably ignore the above post.
the game sold tons in every other region, so rather than debating about wii owners in general we should be trying to figure out what's wrong with people in england. i blame crumpets, myself.
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...

It's "back to school" time, which I think could have had a small impact. Kids either went back last week or they're going back this week.
Regardless, I hope sales pick up. I'm considering buying it this week - was going to wait until Christmas - to help the cause, since my concern is that poor sales for Other M could have an impact on how future Metroid games are marketed in the UK and Ireland.

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
Well did you ever think that maybe the real Metroid fans realized that this game goes against so many things that made the Metroid series great? I'm not surprised that this game doesn't have great sales.
I am a REAL Metroid fan and i think Other M is a great game and went to right direction.

I can count 1.

It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
I'm just trying to wrap my head around this sales chart:
Not only are they comparing sales of games based on total volume, they're also lumping in single-console games with multi-console games? For example, Mafia II is on the 360, PC, and PS3 so it appeals to 3x more (roughly) the audience than Metroid: Other M, right? Toy Story 3 and PoP are on 5 consoles...
The quality of an ad has no bearing on how well a game will sell. Anyone who thinks otherwise doesn't know how marketing works.
No, the problem with Metroid: Other M is this - it's a very serious, very niche title on a casual console. It's not high profile enough to actually sell Wiis, or encourage people back to a console they've left for the PS3 or Xbox 360 (both of which have better examples of sci fi blockbusters), and it's never going to attract newcomers to the Metroid franchise.
It's a good game, sure, for Metroid veterans who haven't moved on. That's a pretty small demographic, if you're going to be honest here.
I actually reckon the game's performing amazingly well, given those constraints.
