The TG-16 has amazing games. I only have Neutopia, Neutopia II, Ys Book I & II, and Gates of Thunder, and I know there are a lot more games on there worth getting. 3DO has some amazing games too. People tend to forget this because most of the games (especially the good ones) were later ported to other systems.
i'm really happy that the Turbografx 16 is on VC. As a teenager, i always wanted it. Every game looked amazing. i'm realizing what a great game maker Hudson was just by playing their TG16 games... which i missed out on the first time.
I think that Turbografx, Commodore, and Neo Geo games were simply added as filler. I'm surprised they haven't tried 3DO yet.
If you had any idea how massively popular the TG-16 (PC Engine in Japan) was in Japan, then you'd know that this statement makes no sense. The only system with more games in the VC in Japan than the PC Engine is the NES and even that hasn't always been case as there were months were PC Engine was number one (as it should be, the NES isn't fit to eat the dust from the PC-E's vents).
Aside from pissing me off, was there a point to this post?

I can appreciate you may be trying to create conversation by stirring up a bit of controversy, but seriously this is a very silly thing to say. Personally I only have admiration for the Neo Geo and really appreciate the ability to play some of these games on virtual console. I only wish there were more games available on the service. The inclusion of TG-16 support has given me the opportunity to play some great games that I otherwise would not have been able to. Rondo of Blood, Gates of Thunder and Lords of Thunder are just three that spring to mind.
If you think that it was only Nintendo and Sega making great games in the early nineties, then I'm afraid you are very wrong and missing out on some great games.

Yes. So I hear the Saturn was the only real successful Sega console in Japan. Enough that it is considered one of the reasons Dreamcast was discontinued (developers got mad that Sega killed the Saturn while it was still hot over there). ...so maybe there's some Japanese guy out there complaining on a message board the Sega consoles are filler?
The PC Engine was a great console and the only 60Hz one on VC for us PAL folks.
The amount of hours I spent playing C64 as a child I wouldnt want to count (mainly though waiting for games to load off a tape..). Either way, an excellent 8-bit computer that the VC has not represented well at all, where is Creatures 2, Summer Camp, Stunt Car Racer - there were also loads of great movie related games from Ocean software we'd never see, like RoboCop and Platoon. Also, the SID Chip allowed for the creation of some epic tunes.
Neo Geo, well - the 50Hz only thing is a shame, at least I can play Garou on the Dreamcast.
You can't complain that Nintendo isn't supporting the VC enough and then complain that they're releasing too many games for systems that you, personally, don't care about.
I am way too lazy to think of something clever. My Backloggery

It's probably worth adding that there's so many excellent PC Engine games out in Japan which are exclusive, you could probably have a year of Hanabi Festivals off the back of it and not be disappointed.
