I must admit that no game has ever been able to give me as much fun as NSMBW. Me and all my brothers and cousins enjoy it till the last minute of playing. And I don't have any reasons. It is just pure joy. Blowing a vehicle in GTA IV, Smashing a mansion in Bad Company, assassinating a king in Assassin Creed, controlling huge armies in star craft, I've tried many kinds of games, and just Mario has a place in my heart. Well, I must also say that DotA gives me as much fun as Mario I see that I enjoy most of my time when playing multiplayer with my friends and my brothers. and single player game a loneliness.

I think people are downcasting him, as you put it, because he's asking something pretty nonsensical. He already has his impressions of the game, and he doesn't like it. Fine. A few folks stepped in saying, "You may change your mind if you play it longer." Fine. But then, as a followup, he doesn't want to play it longer; he wants people to convince him that the game is good, and explain why.

How is that going to work? As an earlier poster stated, everybody has opinions. That includes our friend the topic creator. He already has his...if he's not willing to engage the game any longer to re-evaluate that opinion, how (and why) should anyone change his mind with some words posted on an internet message board?

The game may not be for him. He seems to feel that way. Maybe if he plays longer, he will change his mind. Or maybe he won't. But that's up to him. There are a thousand popular games I don't enjoy (Halo comes to mind), but I certainly don't create threads asking others to justify their enjoyment of the game. What's the point of that?

I bought a CD yesterday. It came in a jewel case, which I don't like. It had a little booklet, that I hate and it even had all the songlyrics inside. That I hated even more, I don't know why, just not my kind of thing. The silver disk thingy was just stupid. I put it inside a machine and noises came out, it hurt my ears. I only listened to the first thing, called a 'track', and hated it. Could someone please tell me what's so special about this?? Why should I like this!?!? I so really don't want to like this!!

The game is just too damn easy and uninspired.

They have run out of creative input it seems with this 2d title and the tacked on motion controls werent amazingly interesting.

Its just dull and sterile with forgettable music. There is no level of skill such as the warp whiste in mario 3 or trying to find the secret keys in SMW.

Due to the size of the game it should have been a wiiware title.

I wouldn't say uninspired, quite the opposite in fact, but it was definitely easy.

Great game, one I haven't even looked at since getting 2 coins from completion (months ago), but still, GREAT GAME!

and as Chicken said so eloquently... silly thread

At no point did he say anything about not 'wanting' to play. He said he only 'got' to play Level One, because he was playing at a store, I'd presume.

I'd take it his first impressions weren't great, but he knows that since he only had a demo try, he might be given to change his mind. That's why he's asking for a bit of an explanation from those that enjoy it. Your taking it as 'having to justify your enjoyment' in a negative sense when I'm sure he's merely curious. I see nothing wrong with that.

That's true, he did not say it explicitly. But I feel pretty confident in saying that he's not interested enough to rent or borrow the game based on the fact that...hasn't rented or borrowed the game. Instead he's watching youtube videos, reading reviews, soliciting opinions online. All fine and good, but the only way he's ever going to re-evaluate his opinion is by playing the game. If he doesn't want to play the game, then he must not be too interested in a reappraisal. All of which, again, is fine...I'm just not sure what he expects of this thread. There are a dozen threads here already that could have provided him with our individual opinions of NSMBWii, both positive and negative, so if that's all he wanted, this one doesn't seem to serve much of a purpose.

But hey, to each his own.

At first I didn´t think Mario was controlled as precicely as in the older games. Got used to it though. I only have one con about it, the dreadful pause when someone dies or gets an upgrade in multiplayer. It´s so awful that it has completely ruined multiplayer for me. Unbelievable they left that "feature" through!!!
