So it turns out I couldn't connect my Wii to the internet before the offer expired, and I missed the deadline. Ah well, easy come easy... I'M STILL PISSED NINTENDO DIDN'T JUST GIVE THE 500 WII POINTS BACK.

Nintendo clearly says no refunds on downloads. Also you obviously paid for the Internet Channel and it is not like they had to do the free NES giveaway.
...which is why I said "I missed the deadline". The blame rests with me. The "Ah well, easy come, easy..." part refers to the saying "easy come, easy go". Definition: "Easily won and easily lost; usually said when resigned to a loss." I'm aware that this could've gone both ways.
The last part is just me venting frustrations. My experience on these forums suggested people are allowed to do that, but maybe that's changed since last year. Whatever.
