It's a pretty interesting read. I'm always keen to read up on the history of my favorite game company. =)
Who would've guessed that the original Mario game (Donkey Kong) was born from wanting to make a Popeye game? =O

Just kinda give and take I guess. I don't always agree with 'em, but yeah, they churn out some really interesting pieces like this that I enjoy reading.

Eventually, Nintendo got the Popeye license and Miyamoto made two games (an arcade game and a NES port of it).
I heard Popeye is public domain now. If that's true, I wonder why Nintendo hasn't put Popeye on the Virtual Console yet.

Popeye IS public domain but not in the United States. Perhaps they'll release the game in Japan and Europe but unless Nintendo was willing pay for lisences in the US, we yanks will never see it. Not that it's much of a loss really as it's a fairly sub par game anyway.

Future Wii purchases:
Super Mario Galaxy 2
Metroid: Other M
Zelda Wii
New Super Mario Bros. Wii
Sin and Punishment 2

Aww..I loved that game. You're right about it being sub-par, but It's still a favorite of mine that I'd love to see hit the VC (even if I know it probably won't)
