Topic: If The Last Story was a Final Fantasy game....

Where would you rank it in the FF verse?

Of the 3 operation rainfall games, I'm considering buying it. I put a cross through Xenoblade, because I checked the dungeon design and wasn't a fan of it. I also don't like the idea of wandering on a world consisting of huge Titans in a sea. And Pandora's Tower doesn't seem to be too elaborate a game.

My favorite FF's are the ones that are more focused on job systems and ability instead of story. Like III and V.

Final fantasy IV is the only FF game I've played and I haven't finished it yet but I feel that its going to end up being better than The last story.

i think last story be better then xenoblade i think it be better then the first 5 FF games but it wont be better then FF VI or FFVII orFFIX my 3 favorites actually idk cause america didnt get last story yet

Probably better than any of the main games since post-PS1.. I would assume, I need to, actually play the game first. Not the hardest task really. If it's better than say, the apparently awesome fighting game or FFTA, now that would actually be pretty impressive.

@mieu-fire Its a great game but its not up to the high standards of Xenoblade chronicles.

Last Story is better than Xeno and Final Fantasy, but it's no Earthbound, Chrono Trigger, or Fire Emblem.

I've never been a really big fan of Final Fantasy games, so The Last Story is better than any that I've played.
It doesn't even begin to compare to Xenoblade Chronicles though.

Final Fantasy IV is great. Characterwise it's one of the stronger titles and I really liked the smaller touches, like Golbez's Italian-named henchmen. The moon is a classic Final Fantasy location, but bringing the story there felt like a tacked on move. And more of that stuff happens. It's like the script went from person to person over time, resulting in a disjointed feel. Overall, I appreciate IV. If anyone wants a taste of what Final Fantasy is about, then watch the FF IV DS intro, followed by the one from III.

IX really goes back to pre-VI. I wish my copy didn't have an insta-deep scratch, which made me stop advancing halfway through and forget about it.

One thing's for sure: Last Story isn't big in the West and that in itself may be a good thing. I haven't seen one single damn Amazon review yet. And the so-called frame rate issues mentioned here I take with a grain of salt.
