Why do I have a feeling this is fake..? Personally I have like 14 VC and 4 Wiiware titles, so I find it pretty hard to imagine someone would actually buy 310 games more than that!

Evidently you've never heard of obsessive shoppers. There over 500 downloadable games collectively available for download on all Nintendo services, and over 300 on VC alone. Someone getting over 300 downloadable games is no stretch of the imagination by any means.
I have 70 games: 21 wiiware and 49 VC games. They are all on a 2 GB SD Card. I still didn't have complete my card. Many VC games are games that I can already beat. Also, there's many that are very hard to complete so I didn't complete them yet.
I'm a big fan of old school games and my Wii is used primarily to play old school games. I do play most of my games but many of them I have yet to beat since they are much more difficult. I have been downloading VC games since the service launched and each week download the games that I'm interested in and before I realized I ended up with a lot of games. Personally to me, VC games are a bargain compared to the retail copies and there are people out there who have a physical game collection that far surpassed my VC collection. There's someone that made the news who paid like $15,000 for a rare game cartridge and that's much more than what I paid for my VC games. I enjoy the games so to me they are worth every penny. Lastly, I did not spend exactly the amount of money equivalent to the points since I picked a lot of them up on sale sometimes like for $15 for a Wii points card or used gift cards for them. So I paid a little less than the exact amount.
If you enjoy classic games then I don't think you have downloaded too many. In fact a quick look on the Backloggery website system stats shows that there are many gamers who purchase well over a 100 VC titles. It may be more common that you think.
