Topic: How Many VC Games are Left until the Service Runs out?

I'm guessing there are thousands of classic games waiting to be released that were originally on several past consoles. Do you think we will see Sega Saturn, Dreamcast, and GameCube games released on the Virtual Console when the next console comes out? Hell, I'd love to see the expansion of N64 games (Pokemon Stadium 1&2, the ability to save ghosts in Mario Kart 64 and unlock those extra characters in Mario Golf). Maybe they'll add computer consoles like the Apple II and ZX Spectrum.

Hardly. They're spreading the games out and releasing duplicate titles just to make it last longer.

The Wii isn't that powerful. Even some NeoGeo games won't get released because the Wii wouldn't be able to store them.

See, this does worry me a bit. I'm almost certain the VC will continue in some form on future Nintendo consoles, but what if one day, they did stop the service. I can already see myself rushing out to buy a mountain of points, so as to buy all the games I ever intended to, but hadn't got around to yet.

Nah, they won't stop it, surely.

Machu, that would be a terrible business move. What's more likely, if they do stop the service, is they'll simply stop releasing games but leave them available long after.

@PS where did you pull that number from? and does that include games that can't be released due to various reasons?

I think it'll go on as long Nintendo is making hardware.

Not quite...it was lacking in "finished product" polish. It still bugs me to this day that they were SO close to done and cancelled it. I don't think anybody should EVER do that! Same with Starfox 2. Freaking annoying, to say the least.

i reckon once the new system comes out, wii wont be getting anymore VC...

They'll probably end support for Wiis and start focusing on support for the new console.

It will take VERY VERY long time when VC runs out of games to choose, I mean just LOOK at all the games that exsist today!

I highly doubt the VC will run out of games any time soon. We only have a couple hundred games so far and there are thousands of games that could be added. Plus, when the next generation consoles comes out, they may be able to add Gamecube games to the VC.
About the mention of Gamecube games on the VC, wouldn't that be awesome .
