Gotta say I definatly took my time with the game, since I got it day 1. I know I'm really late to teh party, but I took some breaks from the game(also the same day release of Wii Sports Resort didn't help) and I literatly played the crap outta this, and still have some sidequests to complete for a 100%...
As some of you may know, my fiances art won and is actually a part of the art collection from Ginger, (in the NA version only) of the 100 Unidentified Mysterious Animals. This is it, I actually got to name it too Lepid the Kobold.
'Lepid' I took from the first portion of the scientific name for a butterfly, ()Lepid()optera. The definition of a kobold is: a sprite from German folklore, usually invisible, a kobold can materialise in the form of an animal, fire, a human being, or a mundane object. The most common depictions of kobolds show them as humanlike figures the size of small children. Just in case anyone was curious on it's origin...
My favorite boss battle in the game was far and away King Shishkebaboo, one of the coolest bosses I've ever encountered in any game. Here is a video but be cautious as it DOES contain spoilers. (Like how to beat him) [youtube:HhYFJsTz8bo]
According to the game, I took 20639 steps, and according to the Nintendo Channel I spent 78 hours and 20 minutes playing 30 times. Def. worth the $50 if you ask me for IMO the best original 3rd party Wii game. One of the best games I have ever had the enjoyment of playing and without a doubt the perfect hybrid of Pikmin and Animal Crossing for fans of either game.
My only major gripe is the end battle, whereas I loved the end concept but the last battle just annoyed the hell outta me, also I honestly think if this game had incorporated the IR function than it would have seen 10s across all major reviewing mediums.
I don't know what else to say other than to continue and stress the importance of EVERYONES purchase of the game. NO RENTALS, straight purchase. Go buy this gem of a game and thank me later.
Man I need to pick this game back up, I have only played about 30 minutes of it! But right now I am caught in school, so it's going to have to wait till spring break.
I have spent at least 10 hours into it. And I love every minute.

I still need to finish that one. I was up to the final battle but that last boss was just too tough. I had tried it enough times that I was able to get through the spaceship flight and the first few parts of the fight without losing too many people, but each time I got to the final one he was just too fast and unpredictable. He'd snatch people away before I knew what was happening and he never seemed to leave any openings to attempt to attack him. It was impossible, as far as I could tell. (And I think this was on the easiest difficulty.) The game's been on hold for a few months now...
I think this is the best 3rd party game too. Everything is fantastic. Right now in Little King's Story I'm just taking the odd quests here and there but I need to beat the ogre battle as i believe it is the only letter quest guardian I have right now. Don't know what happens next. I'm still trying to get through the first Metroid Prime in Metroid Prime Trilogy but I'll have to play Little King's Story soon and face the ogre guardian
By the way I showed my friend Little King's Story and he made his own file. I watched him play for hours through parts I've already beat. That's how good the game is. And now he wants to get his own copy of the game

I've also completed LKS (Normal difficulty), and I think it's the best Wii game i've played. I actually found the ascent up Mt Sobamnjaro the hardest section of the game, although the final bosses are pretty close to that in terms of challenge. It's a while since i finished the game (it was released over here in UK around Easter last year), but from memory it took me around 50 hours, with some side quests still to go and some game events that never happened (according to a guide i saw). I never got a doctor or got any use out of that strange magic park area (19,999.000 Bol wasted).
^^ you get something really cool if you go to that park at midnight(a new job, similar to the doctor) but I think a bum will tell you to go there first...
@duke_mccloud Thanks for the info. I think i read somewhere about something happening at midnight, but like you said you need to have it reported to you, which hasn't happened in my game yet. For a long time during the game i chose not to have any carefrees at all, I only (re-)recruited one a long way into the game when i found out they can give you quests/information. Anyway, its something for me to do when i go back to finish some more sidequests, I never finished any of the princess' books completely, the nearest i got was Spumoni's, i got the final letter to get the last food, but I've not got it yet. I've also got a few more of the paitnings to go, and then finally smash that big caged dragon (nearish the hedge maze before the TV king). Also i never got anyone in my party who can break those blocks that look like lego, (on the beach area, which joins on to your initial territory) I'm assuming i just need to wait for someone to migrate from the last kingdom.
