Which are your favorite Sonic classics on the Sega Genesis? Sonic 1, 2, 3, Knuckles, Spinball or Flickies' Island?

Best thread ever.

Sonic 2 is an amazing game but nothing like when I was handed my Mega drive back in 1992! Sonic 1 was bundled in the pack and we set-up the M.D on the TV and my sister was the first to get to the first boss at the end of Green Hill Zone 3!

Classic? Sonic & Knuckles.

Sonic Adventure 2 Battle for the GCN is the best Sonic ever, though.

Sonic 3 & Knuckles, no contest.

Individually, Sonic 2 surpasses both games, but when they're locked on together to form the true Sonic 3, it's 2D Sonic perfection (except for Sandopolis Zone Act 2).

I also agree with the others about Sonic Adventure 2: Battle.

Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

Sonic 1 because it's just Sonic and relies more on the spin attack. No spindash to make things easier.

Sonic 3 and Knuckles tied with Sonic CD if we can count that. I loved the UFO special stages.

Sonic 2. I've heard good things about Sonic CD but I haven't played it before.

The first game, I prefer the physics - you cant actually run that fast, only roll. I think its a truly classic game, level design is perfect.
I got Sonic 2 upon release and although I think it looks the best, it was the first game to feature over sized levels and 'just holding right' until you hit something as a gameplay feature.
Sonic 3 + I've never really understood the appeal... I never actually played 3 until Sonic Jam so maybe its partly nostalgia!

Sonic 3 & Knuckles for sure. What an epic game it was when you locked them together.
