Sonic wasn't gone he was in some handheld games while some imposter tried to ruin his image. When he came back the fake eventually used Dark Gaia's power to manifest as a Werehog which Sonic eventually destroyed once and for all.
Sonic 4 had its problems, especially if you consider yourself a purists, yet it's still the best sonic since the first Rush game. So for the first time in a while, I am genuinely excited for future Sonic games.

Why is Sonic Colors a Wii exclusive? It would have shabby competition on Xbox 360 and PS3, so why the Wii? Now it's up against Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, Rabbids Go Home, Epic Mickey, Munchables, and de Blob-and that's just the 3d competition. If this is a good Sonic game it should try to make as much money as it can.

The original statement was that there are more Sonic games on the Wii. It said nothing about this generation, and there's no reason to just count this generation. I was just helping to clarify what JumpMad meant. Assuming he wasn't counting the handhelds, there is Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic and the Secret Rings, Sonic and the Black Knight, and soon Sonic Colors that currently can be played on Wii but not PS3 or X360. The HD consoles have Sonic 06 (one of the worst Sonic games ever made, and that's saying something), and X360 will soon have Sonic Free Riders, which will probably only make up for the fact that the X360 is the only one on which you can't play Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity. If you have one of the X360s (I think that's the one) that doesn't have backwards compatability, you also lose the ability to play Sonic CD, Sonic the Fighters, Sonic R, Sonic Heroes, Shadow the Hedgehog, and the original Sonic Riders. On top of that, the Wii is also the exclusive home to Sonic appearances in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and both Mario & Sonic Olympics games.

Well, I hate to be the hater, but until (possibly) this year, nobody without a Wii has missed out on much Sonic. Quantity does not mean quality. I do hope that Colours is good; haven`t played a game like it in a long time.

Sonic The Hedgehog is a disaster, and easily one of the worst, if not THE Worst game in the series. It's one of those cases where they had some interesting ideas, but they had, like, 6 months to make it happen. It's glitchy as f***, as if they had never playtested it - you can't go more than a few minutes before something goes wonky and I even if I do the same exact thing twice it's a crapshoot whether or not it'll kill me. It also has a horrible story, some very annoying characters, and some problematic stage designs. It's not a good game at all.
And Sonic Unleashed is better than the demo shows. At least, the levels get better as you go on. The framerate never gets better, unfortunately.

Not really. It originally came out for the Dreamcast, and once it was ported to the GameCube it was no longer exclusive to any system.
Edit: I read your last post. I see what you mean, but calling it a Wii exclusive is stretching it a bit I think, lol.
According to Gamerankings Nintendo Power gave the Wii version of Sonic Colors a 9/10 and the DS version a 7.5/10. I'm a little surprised by the score of the DS version but it's nice to hear that they liked the Wii version. I have not read the review.

Good, so that's two faiirly reputeable sources that think Sonic Colours Wii is "Gold Award Standard". Looking good so far. ONM's review is due out this Thursday, that should be interesting.
I too am interested in Sonic Colors DS as all the hands on play tests and previews point to Sonic Rush 3 and that is a great series. Nintendo Power revw seems to indicate in its summary "great, but short" - which is fine by me tbh.

OFFICIAL NINTENDO MAGAZINE review just in. Gave it an "EXCELLENT" 86%. Not quite a "gold award" by ONM scoring sytstem (90%+) but very close. Best Sonic game on any systrem for 10 years they cry. The hits just keep on coming.
The DS version got an EXCELLENT 85% as well. They reckon its not quite as good as the Advance and the Rush series but still is a high standard game. The game is a very different experience to the Wii version too.
Its like we've been given 3 excellent sonic games in little over a month if you include the wiiware version. What's going on?

Nope, Sonic Colours Wii is done internally by Sonic Team. No Dimps involvement at all.
