Did anyone else really enjoy the music from Endless Ocean 2? I'm not talking about the instrumental background music, but the Celtic-sounding vocal tracks. The only one that grated was The Prayer (that overplayed Celine Dion song), just because I'd heard it before and didn't like it then or now.
The vocal music in Endless Ocean 2 are a collection of tracks by Celtic Woman, a 5-woman Irish band. It looks like the songs weren't recorded specifically for the game, but they really seemed to fit very well when they were played during different events. The music is so relaxing and atmospheric.
Here's one of my favourite tracks in the game, Dúlamán, which is played the first time you visit Cortica River in the Amazon.
Also Hayley Westenra apparently sang a lot of the music for Endless Ocean 1? That's amazing! Too bad I never played it, because I really like her voice and music.
So ends a saga older than time itself. The World's oldest and fiercest army has been led to victory, and a lost generation is delivered from its fear of extinction. As the sun sets over the field of conflict the dinosaurs disperse, hoping never to set foot in this place a...
There's worse on normal television. Ah, the wonderful Tricia Helfer as Number Six in Battlestar Galactica, for example: (The E-rated and still gorgeous version!)
I didn't realise the music in the games were by actual recording artists though. I thought they might have gotten some in-house music done. And having names like Hayley Westenra and Celtic Woman behind the games would be a real draw for new age and Celtic music lovers... who are perhaps partly the target audience for this game.
For some reason I loved it in the first one... but not the second. I dunno. There were actually more original songs in the 1st Endless Ocean.
And of course the option to put your own music in. I lost count the amount of times I was searching for an Indigo ray-fish and listening to QOTSA or Zeppelin
@T_Neumann Yes, I've heard that the soundtrack in the first game is far better than the second. Unfortunately I'm not going to buy EO1 since EO2 improves almost everything from the first one.
Isn't it strange that Nintendo is removing that "listen to your own music" functionality from games recently? They could have easily put that in EO2. I wonder why that's happening.

It was MP3 playback so maybe there were licensing fees payable to MP Group for the player? Probably not, but it's the only thing I can come up with.

Since Nintendo updated the Photo Channel to make it working with AAC files and cutting the feature to play mp3 files there hasn't been a game with mp3 SD card support anymore.
True, but there's no AAC support in Excite Bots or Endless Ocean 2 - I'm guessing it just wasn't worth their time to code or maybe it's intentional to make the previous games in the series appealing?
For anyone that wants to know what dúlamán mean in English. It's direct translation is "seaweed" _ Tá mé abailta caint as Gaeilge mar tá me Éireannach! Búla Bús! XD
