I bought one in Europe in November. It's horrible - the matted finish on the back and the glossy front make it disgusting to hold. Uncomfy for long games of WWE SmackDown 2010 as well, thanks to the bizzare shoulder button placement...you're best off getting the original classic controller the now if you ask me...

Oh man I'm not too happy to hear that. I'm having second thoughts now. Thanks for the info, Roo!

Sorry to drain your enthusiasm folks, but I really didn't like it. You might, of course! Nintendo Life gave it a favourable review - so you still might want to try it.

I'll be getting the black one bundled with Monster Hunter Tri. I clean my controllers anyway so gloss is no problem.

I love the classic controller pro, I got it at Christmas and will never go back to the classic controller after using it. I really don't notice the difference in finishes on the controller possibly because it has the same exact finish as the wii remote, glossy on front and matte on the back. The only problem with the gloss is fingerprints and haven't been able to find a skin for it yet.

The controller is very comfortable though when playing for long amounts of time as opposed to the classic controller which would give me cramps because it was so small and there wasn't much to hold on to. I think you'll be more than happy with the pro controller.

I have been DYING for this. I have been holding the classic controller off just so I could have grips and easier to reach L2 & R2 buttons! Definately a buy as soon as I see this at my local Best Buy.

I'm pretty okay.

I want he white one, as it will match with the rest of the Wii family, but it doesn't seem to be the one in the bundle, so I might have to get it by itself.

I'll pass because the grips ruin the nostalgic feel of the Classic Controller. I'm ok with the size of the CC, and the placement of the LR buttons is fine IMO. My only nitpick is that the cord should be on the top. Otherwise, it's fine.

For the umpteenth time.

NES- Wii Remote
SNES- Classic Controller
N64- Gamecube Controller

The Grips are mainly for playing monster Hunter Tri though and other non classic fighting games.

I wouldn't get this controller if it wasn't bundled with Monster Hunter Tri.

sorry, but l2 and r2 aren't used for anything... they're extremely comfortable to rest your fingers on but no VC game makes use of them; for N64 games l2 and r2 both correspond to C-down, but that's it. no wii games i've tried use them either, so i don't know what purpose they serve. if nintendo let you map buttons you could at least set them to be regular L and R if you preferred pressing them over the actual L and R buttons, but nope.

the grips are extra nice. a lot of people think they feel like a 360 controller, which they do, although they're a little smaller. there definitely is a rougher texture on the underside of the controller and D-pad than the normal wiimote or classic controller and it really does improve the comfort. i've heard the black wiimote has the same grip texture on it's underside too

I really like the CC-PRO, the CC is now just sitting there abandoned, but I'll keep it around to have a spare. I do wish they had the L/R buttons in the lower position, but I can see why they did it since it resembles an SNES pad (which I hated) with extra shoulder buttons that way.

I think it's the best gamepad ever made: nice and wide with a usable d-pad (unlike Gamecube/Xbox/etc) and comfortable grips. Once I get an adapter to use it with my Mac my old Playstation pad goes into storage!

I didn't like the Classic Controller Pro. I normally stick with my Super Famicom classic controller unless it requires the analog sticks and then I'll just use the regular CC.
