Topic: Chrono Trigger - New Game +

I recently beat Chrono Trigger for the first time and would like to play the New Game +. However, after watching the end credits the words "The End" appear in front of a planet. I tried pressing all the buttons but cannot get back to the title screen to start a new game. How do you play the New Game +

I beat the Black Omen but after the first encounter with Lavos, I warped back to The End Of Time and timed hop around to buy items and then used the bucket to face Lavos again. Did that screw things up?

Press the home button on your Wii remote and reset the game.
Load your save file and the new game + should be available from the menu.

You did save on the actual game didn't you?
Not just the auto save feature on the Wii right?
You have to make sure you save the normal way also.
Otherwise there'd be no save file to load.

Last save was at Lavos's inner core. I thought the reset would delete the game save? Thanks for the tip

beating the game saves into memory that you've beaten the game. No manual save is needed at this point.

Don't worry reseting the game doesn't erase your save.
It'll just get you back to the title screen so you can load your new game +
If you're playing RPG's on VC make sure you always save within the game itself or you'll lose all that progress if you reset.
