I only played through the beginning of NPC Pikmin. I found it to be horrible.

LOL... I also couldn't complete either Pikmin game. Kind of lost focus when playing one day, and then never went back. Still plan to play through Pikmin 1 all the way now that I've got the NPC version though - the game deserves that much love at least.

played pikmin 2, it was pretty good, but never played number 1 since there's a 30 day time limit.

sup, I will give you advice if you ask.

I liked the time limit, myself. Ideally, it'd be nice to have the option, though.

Come on, friends,

I liked the time limit, too. Without the time limit in Pikmin 2, there was never any sense of urgency about anything. Want to spend 30 days knocking down a wall with a single Pikmin? Go to town.

As much as I disliked the 30 day limit when I was playing Pikmin 1, I found that I missed it in Pikmin 2. The random dungeons were more frustrating than interesting (if you retreat for more/different Pikmin, you can't come back to try it again...you're trying a brand new dungeon for the first time), and though the gameplay experience as a whole was refined, I found myself missing the fact that Pikmin 1 was one enormous timed puzzle consisting of dozens of individual, untimed ones.

I can understand why people wouldn't like that...but I definitely did. I think maybe 30 days is a little too short...and Pikmin 2's infinite timespan is definitely too long...but somewhere in the middle there's something that can please both crowds.

Also, I beat Pikmin 1 god knows how many times. I never bothered to beat Pikmin 2, even though I enjoyed it. Without a sense of urgency, it felt more like a quirky Japanese gardening simulator. Give me back my pre-sundown panics, dagnabbit.

I loved the first game, but the Time Limit extremely put me off finishing it. :/

It's a cute game.

Main Final Fantasy & Quest/Shinobi Team fan...but I do like many SEGA games and a few Nintendo games.

I can be cute if I want to be, but I choose not to...as it's not my style.

I played through Pikmin 2 and loved it. I've never played the first one though.

I love both Pikmin games, but Pikmin 2 is better. It's # 3 in my Gamecube Top 100.

Definitely worth trying!
I personally prefer Pikmin 2 over the original game but that's just my preference.
It's your call really, either you can get Pikmin 1 for the Wii or track down a copy of Pikmin 2 for GC. (:

Yes, but you do need an acquired taste for those types of games. As for which one you should get, it really depends. I personally found the second one much better because there was no stress in trying to find a spaceship part every day, but the first one did have much more charm to it. Depends on your tastes.

tbh i prefer pikmin 1 it was one of those games that you see in the store think that looks interesting, you take a chance and buy it, then when you go to play it you realise how cool, calm and amazing it is to play. pikmin 2 on the other hand was to over hyped for my liking, liked they expected evryone to fall in love with the consept of a second pikmin game, also i thought that it was gonna be co-op when they said about 2 player, ended up just versing each other. anywho in sumory pikmin 1 is a gem in the rough with basic ideas that blend very well for charm and lovelyness. Pikmin 2 has the advancing ideas but not the charm to pull it off

It is weird that Pikmin 2 is less rare in Europe. Because it is out on wii I guess. Last week I went into my local 2nd hand games store and there were 4 cheap copies of Pikmin 2 for the Gamecube.

Gamestop asks $40 for it in the states, and around that you can figure +/- that a bit depending on who is selling and the condition, mind you if it's still sealed I got no idea what some drooling deep pocketed numbnuts would pay for it.

Would you doubt a game made by Miyamoto? I enjoyed the Pikmin games, so do check them out.

I'm back (for the moment)!

I never played hte first one and in the scond one i only did the bare minimum of ccompleting the game. While there is no time limit if you want you could still aim to beat the game in 3o days or so, thats what i tried to do( and failed). for me the real fun was 2p, it was a lot of going head to head and co-op, and the co-op was timed so it was pretty hard.

Oreos taste good with milkXD
