People shouldn't be asking for ports and dumbed down versions of games on other consoles.

The whole point of the Wii is for unique experiences.

Want Street Fighter? LittleBigPlanet? Awesome, buy a Playstation 3 and play those games there.

Meanwhile keep asking games like Boom Blox and Tiger to do special things on the Wii. The mindset should be "hey if I had every single gaming system, what Wii games would still stand out"

There's nothing special about LittleBigPlanet diced and sliced for Nintendo's little white box.

Seems weird coming from a guy with a grim reaper & a scythe as an avatar.

To be honest, I find Tatsunoko vs Capcom looking far more appealing than Street Fighter 4. The characters in SF4 look stupid and too bulky with over-the-top muscles.

Now as for Katamari, I really don't get why this still is not on the Wii system.

I'm confused. We spend so much time complaining about ports, and here you are, asking for more?

Other games, on other formats, might as well be on another planet, I don't care. Don't botch them on to Wii for a bit of extra cash from 'the casuals', oh hang on, that's the point.

I can't believe you are even suggesting this tbh. ?!?

i just got a wii last week and am overall very happy with it. however there a a few games i'd like to see on the wii:

king of fighters XII
street fighter IV - though I'm actually more excited about the game we are getting
ikaruga -i know there is gamecube version but something like what xbox 360 got would be nice
a metal gear solid game
rez
castle crashers
raiden 4

I would gladly buy a PS3 if it had more than two games worth playing (IMO). As it stands now, I'd rather have Katamari brought to the Wii than buy a whole new lousy system to play it on. It doesn't seem to be happening, and I'm okay with that, but that doesn't change the fact that I'd enjoy it if it were ported.

And not all ports are dumbed down...it boils down to the amount of effort the developers want to invest. The Resident Evil games have a rich history of awesome Nintendo ports. Ghostbusters is being designed for us with a whole new, unique (and pretty cool, IMHO) graphical style. It's not always dumbed down (though there are certainly loads of examples that are)...it's often an original experience in itself.

That's why I used Tiger in that post. He's seeing all platforms but he's even more awesome on the Wii.

Ghostbusters will be the same way, at least from what we know. Unfortunately for every one game like that, there's five dumbed down games that are much superior elsewhere, with tacked on controls.

And then some genres don't have anything that can be tailored for the Wii. Like Street Fighter 4? Well the Wii's main strength is motion controls and that won't work, so everything else would be worse.

I think Little Big Planet should have, at least, been on the DS. But it would be cool on Wii, too!

Noire

In no particular order:
1. Tales. We got the excellent Tales of Symphonia, the not-so-good port of the excellent Tales of Phantasia, and the fanservicey Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World. We've missed out on so much more, however. I wish they would release all Tales games on all systems. At least we're getting Tales of Graces. Just saw that a new character was unveiled.
2. Street Fighter, like Cheezy said. I don't care about a graphical downgrade, I just want to beat some people down with the Crimson Viper.
3. SoulCalibur. Another fighting game that should have stayed on Nintendo after SCII. Didn't the Gamecube version of SCII sell the most?
4. Final Fantasy. I want the real deal, Square!
5. Metal Gear Solid. I missed the Twin Snakes edition of MGS on the Cube, and we haven't had anything since then, besides Snake in SSBB.
Now this may look like I'm whining, but if the tables were reversed and the question was "What does Nintendo have that Microsoft/Sony does not," my list would have been a heck of a lot longer, which is why I'm very content with Nintendo at the moment.

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.

I don't know why people want Street Fighter IV on Wii. It's awful. I feel like I'd have to take a class on SFIV to learn all the moves necessary to have a slight chance at beating the easiest CPU, and I just do not see the point of making a game like that. Brawl has proven that the player does not need to be forced to memorize huge lists of moves for each player; why don't other developers follow this lead? SFII: Vanilla Edition is still the best of the series.

Come on, friends,

Agreed. I'd rather play King of Fighters on the Neo Geo collection myself. Fewer buttons and interesting mechanics like dodging, though I generally dislike fighting games.

Ever since I started playing Garou: Mark of the Wolves on my Neo cabinet, I just can't play any other fighting games. I so wish SNK would update Garou. Such a deep fighting game engine.

I'd like to see Killer Instinct Gold on VC. I remember being up for days playing that damn game with anyone that walked into my door up in Pittsburgh.
