I wish sega would release these on WII since they have already released a pixel perfect emulation of space harrier arcade.
Being a 360 owner I already have outrun 2 and am getting afterburner climax in 2 weeks but seriously the Wii could handle the original yu suzuki masterpieces.

I know that what I'm about to write doesn't necessarily pertain to arcade releases on VC, but its not always a matter of when they'll release something, I've been waiting for Sega to port Sonic CD to any current system, so I can play it again. VC would be the easiest, but I wouldn't mind an HD version for XBLA or PSN. ...I'd rather have that before any more arcade games considering they've all had around average scores so far.
What is the meaning of life? That's so easy, the answer is TETRIS.
I think if OutRun appeared, the car would no longer be a Ferrari, most likely be that weird generic car that appeared in the Shenmue 2 version. OutRun is my favourite game of all time, the best non-arcade way to play it is the Japanese Sega Ages disc for the Saturn. The US and EU Saturn compilation version has a bug where your car sprite gets stuck in the 'uphill' position when you choose cloudy mountain... I also liked the C64 version
Ended up getting the jap versions of all 3 and also powerdrift and the poor conversion of galaxy force 2.
Looked great running at 60hz in true RGB.
Space harrier does have slow down but that aside its a fine emulation and unless someone tells me different i expect the slowdown is in the arcade. The saturn versions by rutobu games were improvements of the arcades.
That bug really annoyed me, so glad the Japanese version didnt have it. Yep, I got Power Drift too, but the reviews of galaxy force put me off. Still have my modded Saturn and takes pride in my collection, analogue support for OutRun and it looks great in 60HZ, 'smooth mode' putting it beyond the arcade as you say.
Did you try GTI Club on the Wii? It has awful graphics but I really like it, reminds me of a simpler time of fun arcade racers...
Yep - I remember OutRun 2019, and Battle OutRun on the master system... GTI Club seems to be a sort of port, the 3D modeling of the backgrounds is original but with better (but still fuzzy textures). The cars reflect the environment and the road surface has a really nice lighting effect. Frame rate is about 30fps but once you get your car upgraded, its nice and fast to play.
Also has online up to four players and a time attack ranking,
Has a UK police version of the Golf GTI, the 'England' track is a laff too, seems to have Battersea powerstation in the background and you get to drive through a tube station! I prefer it to Need for Speed Nitro, as arcade crazyness goes.
