Hi there, everyone. I'm quite interested in picking up a WTF-game, as I haven't played one in some time. I've narrowed it down to two options: Tomena Sanner and Muscle March.
So which of the two would you recommend more? They both seem pretty nuts, and fairly addictive and fun. Not to mention, they're both 500 points.
I've only played Sanner. I won't comment on what I don't know about Muscle March, but I will say Tomena Sanner is an excellent game. Already put 2-3 hours into it today.
Yes, I downloaded Tomena Sanner today, and also have Muscle March. Tomena Sanner has a bit more lasting value. Strange that there's sort of a genre on WiiWare based around running. Both games are short and reflex-based, and fun to show to your friends, but Tomena Sanner has more variety. Muscle March is probably a little funnier and weirder, but in Tomena Sanner, you can upload your scores, which I was really enjoying today. I got pretty high on the list for most of the levels, and there's more modes to play in than Muscle March. So I would say it's a better deal for the $5 you spend on it. But if you have an iPhone/iPod Touch, I think the game is on there for $1.99. I don't have either, though.
Muscle March is a great choice as a "joke game". It's funny and weird, and can be a great choice at parties... but is shallow and really not something you want to play often. Tomena Sanner is simply a better game, although it still has a lot of weirdness and WTF moments.
I know I had said a few weeks ago that I was done with WiiWare, but I had also said before I made that post that I was going to buy Tomena Sanner and Pearl Harbor Trilogy, so I downloaded Tomena Sanner yesterday (one of the first I believe since my score was #2 of 3 at the time lol). It is so crazy it's awesome. For only using one button there is a lot of depth such as I've found that sometime it's better to take a hit and slow down if you know a big score is coming up that you can miss easily if you are going too fast.
I never played Muscle March, but it just seems they designed the characters to be funny and then tacked on some gameplay. If they keep up with games like this at this price point, I may reconsider my boycott lol

I'm not kidding when I say that Tomena Sanner is one of the best games on WiiWare--for all it's one button simplicity, it's incredibly addictive and outrageously entertaining.
@Darkmire: It's true that Tomena Sanner is available on the iPhone/Touch for $1.99, but with several shortcomings. Granted, I haven't played those versions myself; however, they lack online leaderboards (which is a huge incentive to play the same level over and over again) and I've heard that the timing of the touch controls feel off and inconsistent. (Honestly, from my experience, buttons are definitely the way to go for rhythm-based games like this.) Anyway, I figured it was worth noting for anyone who might think they're saving themselves a few bucks by getting the portable version...

What ACK said. My mom is hooked on it and she hates any game that isn't Ms. Pac-Man.

I didn't know that. It's good to hear we got the definitive version, and yeah, the online leaderboards add a ton to the game. I got first place on one of the Turbo levels.

The one that's less homosexual. (HINT: It's not Tomena Sanner.)
As a gay person, it kind of irks me that everyone calls Muscle March gay. Are any gay people actually turned on by this game? Whereas straight guys have games like DOA Volleyball...
Yeah, I don't see how Muscle March is gay, unless you happen to be a man and are turned on by the over-muscled characters in the game. One of them also happens to be a woman, but I guess we can ignore that!
Now if you want to say Ai Cho Aniki is gay, well, I'd have a tougher time disputing that one...
