I bought the Legend of Zelda 2 days ago. I had to buy a thumbdrive because I didn't had enough space. After 2 days my Wii U won't detect the thumbdrive anymore.
So I read a lot. I heard that you shouldn't use thumbdrives because they are dying really fast. But after 2 days?
Btw. It's a SanDisk thumbdrive 32GB.
I tried to start the move/copy mode in the settings but if the drive is plugged in it will crash.
Most people here understand electronics way better than me, so I'll just mention my experience: I've used a thumbdrive on my WiiU for 3 years now and I've never had a single problem.
Have you tried formatting the thumbdrive and basically restarting the process from scratch?! You will be able to redownload all your games from the eShop anyway.
Top-10 games I played in 2017: The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild (WiiU) - Rogue Legacy (PS3) - Fallout 3 (PS3) - Red Dead Redemption (PS3) - Guns of Boom (MP) - Sky Force Reloaded (MP) - ...

Technically speaking your thumbdrive is where the game is right? So the system is having to load the game through a single USB port, and its a lot of game.
With Wii U, it is advised you don't do that, or use a HDD with two ports in use, as the system cant power the storage device, and pull via one port efficiently enough.
