Ok. So the free trial is out, so who's tried out the game yet?
I have... Anyway, what are your thoughts? Will you be buying the Wii Fit U activity meter for $20 to keep the trial version?
My first impressions are that it's impressive. The UI is alot more accessible and the new activities and games are great. They have a climbing game that uses a dual Wii remote + setup. It's pretty nifty, yo.
If you want the Wii Fit U activity(pedometer) gadget, you'll need to oder it online at GameStop or Toys R' Us. I didn't know this and went looking at 3 stores before coming back empty handed.
I'm downloading it right now. I was surprised the file size was that large, but with my internet speed it should be done in about twenty minutes (it's at 65% right now).
Isn't it 3GB? I have a 2TB USB drive, so the amount doesn't matter. I just started the download and came back 2 hours later. I went to Walmart, GameStop, and Best buy, but you can only oder the activity meter online with GameStop, and I think Toy's R' Us has a few in store, but will also be selling it online.
I didn't know that before I went looking around, so I figured I'd post that little bit of info here.

Well its about 4.5 GB
I havent downloaded it yet but i will in the near future (maybe tomorrow) when i got some time. Also im looking really forward to it.
Has anyone found a store you can order it from in the green or red color in north america? I have read a couple posts saying north america only gets the black one. Sort of a pita for everyone to have the identical looking fit meter.
I've only gotten about 20 minutes of actual playtime with it so far, but my initial impression is that it's much more robust and accessible than the old Wii Fit. The interface is more intuitive; when you finish with one activity, the game will recommend another one that you can choose to switch to immediately. This makes switching activities quicker so you're wasting less time in the menus.
The biggest improvement to Wii Fit so far is the introduction of the Fit Meter, which I managed to find at Toys R Us today. I won't bother explaining how it works, because that information is available online, but I will say that it vastly improves Wii Fit U's legitimacy as useful fitness software for those of us who exercise outside of the game. Now my trips to the gym will be recorded by Wii Fit! That makes spending time with the game even more appealing to me, because it feels like an extension of my gym workout. For me, it's easily the most exciting aspect of Wii Fit U.
Also, that bobsledding game will mutilate your abs.
SCAR, thanks for posting this thread. Sometimes I get caught up with the Nintendo is doomed news too often. Anyways, I picked up a Wii balance board last night which I was surprised to find in my local gamestop, and it came with a bag. I didn't find any retailer carrying the meter though. Does anyone know if we can sync up multiple meters with the game? My girlfriend is really interested in this.

Yes, you can sync up multiple meters with the game. Each profile is allowed it's own fit meter.
I was thinking of the Wii Fit U meter's being hard to find. (i'm guessing they're waiting till the week before black friday). I think Nintendo should offer its own online store.

The only one I could find online was black, and that's besides that I could only get one online. It's actually for my bro, though. I just went halvies on the Fit Meter so I could have the software on my Wii U, and my bro could mess around with the pedometer data.
Do I need to purchase and activate the Fit Meter within the free trial period in order to unlock the full game? I ask this because I want to start playing the game now (I just finished installing it). I plan on asking for the Fit Meter for my birthday, which is December 7th. Will I have to purchase the Fit Meter before the free trial is over or can I still activate the game if I get the Fit Meter a few days after my trial expires?
I dont know about that but it would make sense to be able to activate it later. But maybe u can hold of playing till the 8 November so ur on the save side?
I started playing it yesterday for some minutes and its really fun although havent played anything besides the minigames.
So, just a few queries on it, if someone with the software would care to elaborate:
The fit meter, I'm presuming it tracks your distance right? So if you go for a jog in the morning with it, you can sync it later at night. What sort of things can you do with that data - anything usefull, or just track it?
I read somewhere its only imperial and not metric - so, can you get distances in Km's and weights in KG's?
Any weight lifting type exercises? I wouldn't expect any as the wiimote is so light, but they might have thought of some way around that.
Do they do sit up and pressup type exercise? Yoga stuff?
I'd be interested in any replies from people with the game. I won't go into details as to why I haven't downloaded it yet, might get flamed for having the nerve to not link up an external HDD

I had the same question - I wouldn't be able to buy and link the fit meter until late December January, but thinking about it, there is no way you have to activate it within the trial. After the trial period ends, it will tell you "to activate the full game - link a fit meter" and then you can do it even 3 years ahead. It has to work that way technically.
Step 3 makes it pretty clear than you can do the syncing at any time to get the software free, just as long as you download the free trial before Jan 31st.
the Danse games are pretty tiring lol I also love the new games they added (especially wall climbing xD) but still feel like they should've added more or at least they should've created a new city for gamers to play in
I also love the menu, it's so modern now and way easier to access everything in a fast way
I'll probably buy it if it's 50 euros, not 60
Well u just got to have to pay 20 € when u got an balance board already and i take from ur comment u played it alias u got the trial version and an balance board

Oh really? I had no idea. Hell if it's only 20 euros I'll buy it that's a fair price imo
Yeah it is but to detail it, u download the game then u gota register the wii fit pedometer which costs 20 € and then u can keep the game
but theres one restriction as far as i know u gota register fit meter before the 31st january 2014.
At least as i have understood this
