Topic: Wii Fit Trainer announced for Smash bros

I do not like this. No one suggested it, it's a terrible surprise, and I just don't like it. I think it's a waste of character roster space and is not right as a fighter. I would appreciate a swap between the following: Mii, Waluigi, Giharim, and Athony Higgs (Metroid Other M, a good friend of Samus from the Galactic Federation).

I wonder what voice clips they'll have.

I really hope that Isaac makes the cut. He is the one character most likely to represent Golden Sun in SSB. Too bad he was just an assist trophy last time round and not a playable character. I don't want Matthew, he just came in, had the least successful game and his game sort of alienated old GS gamers to appeal to new ones. It would also play in nicely for a GS4 promotion (hopefully with Isaac in lead and some old characters. I didn't like most of the new party as good as the old one). Until SSB comes out, I will imagine that this awesome GS fighter has been included.

To the Wii Fit trainer inclusion, I am on the fence. She is a comical addition and a possible troll candidate BUT Sakurai stated that this time they want to focus on characters more i.e. less characters or not much more characters in SSB for 3DS/Wii U as well as the fact that not too many characters can be introduced due to 3DS' limitations (Why ? They don't even have cross-play to make advantage of that!). If an awesome character gets excluded because of her inclusion, it will not be a very happy day for Smash Bros.

I'm pretty sure he was talking about stages, not characters.

I personally think she's more worthy to be in Smash Bros 4 than any character from any Golden Suns, Advance Wars or any other franchise that was inactive during the Wii-lateDS-early 3DS era.

I always see Smash Bros games as celebrations of the previous geneneration of consoles (with random older/newer characters thrown in to suprise fans and sell games), and Wii Fit was a big deal during the Wii era, so she's perfect for the game.

Even the Villager and his stage are in their Wii design, not the newer New Leaf one.

I would be really happy if that's true! A lot of people are expecting a large varied roster of characters this time and this limitation would be horrible. Although reading the Nintendo Life article I didn't get that impression.

Actually Golden Sun AND Advance Wars were both active during the DS era. Golden Sun: Dark Dawn came out pretty late in the console life and wasn't as successful due to a multitude of reasons. Character change put off old players, low difficulty put of players (some), the points of no return, a convoluted plot which did not relate much to the older games, unimpressiveness compared to the originals and the very reason that it came out late.

Advance Wars had two games, Advance Wars: Dual Strike and Advance Wars: Days of Ruin.

Megaman (the one that got included in the game - regular blue bomber) being 3rd party had no games, although he is a widely iconic character and I understand his inclusion. Golden Sun is a somewhat an underlooked Nintendo franchise that was a great RPG and highest rated games on the GBA with its DS sequel being a bit mediocre compared to the originals. Advance Wars is not that popular in Japan (no release, late release) and is actually one of the rare series to be more popular in the west.

I am fine with the Wii Fit trainer as long as great characters are not axed out (pretty subjective, I know). She is funny and another female character to the roster.

Just don't expect the roster to skyrocket...he's probably going to keep it at 35.
Something tells me that the stages will skyrocket though. (when the two versions are combined anyways. xD)

Well let's see how the game comes up. The dojo details are going to be slowly revealed.

The roster staying at 35 is fine as long as the characters are great and represent most (if not all) of Nintendo's franchises. Put the redundant or less useful characters in the trophy section (like Jigglypuff, comes in singing ) and bring the good characters from the trophies (like Isaac and Lyndis) to the playable characters.

Loads more stages, a single player campaign and improved Internet functionality would be great! Nintendo (Sakurai to be exact) is denying DLC although I hope that we get some DLC characters later. Nice to get people excluded the first time to make an entry without waiting for an all new game. The Wii U version not suffering due to the 3DS is something they should definitely see although it is Nintendo, I expect them to know that already.

I hope Isaac gets in. In a lot of the polls around the net, he has placed a decent rank for inclusion in Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS. Not very high obviously as Golden Sun never became too popular. An inclusion can also be a great push for Nintendo to properly utilize this underused IP.

I don't really see Jigglypuff leaving the main scene, since he's one of the original fighters (but who knows! They could get rid of some of the originals, including C. Falcon).

Yeah, highly doubt the original 12 are going anywhere. Luigi, Captain Falcon, Ness...Jiggly, they're not going anywhere. lol

I really don't know. She is original no doubt about it but a lot of people really don't like her. Jiggly seems less important, much less important than Pikachu. Maybe we will see a different Pokemon. Maybe that MewTwo evolution? I wonder what its name is going to be, MewTwo2? MewThree? MewThree sounds like a new variant while it has been revealed an evolution.

There is obviously no way Luigi can leave. After all he is the 2nd Mario Bros. and it IS the year of the Luigi so far.

I've actually made a list with 2-3 (plausible) characters from my favorite series, as well as a miscellaneous section with about 5.

I'm hoping to see at least one make it into Smash 4.

I don't think so. They have an army of Genesects in the upcoming movie. MewTwo2 is more likely Technically, there can be only one MewTwo2 as there was only one MewTwo. After all, it is a way to get MewTwo back in the Smash Bros. franchise!

Who is in your list? Is Isaac there? He is in mine Megaman was not there (I overlooked him) although I would have preferred Zero. It would be great if Megaman can transform into Zero or as shown, atleast use the Z-Sabre! I would prefer the Zero look, much more iconic. Or he temporarily transforms just to do the Z-Sabre attack.

lol, I just know Genesect will be in as a Assist Trophy though. But I'd like to see Zoroark (then again he'll probably be one as well, because of his ability), I dunno how his ability would work there though...bleh, just sticking with Mewtwo v2.0. (its a better name, shaddap. x3)

I was thinking maybe only feature his ability in his final smash. Maybe he becomes the character he uses it on, and they are both frozen, and then he strikes. Or something to that affect. It wouldn't make sense to have him looking like other characters, because in local multiplayer, people could just say "I'm the one ducking, the other one is Zoroark" or something like that.

If I remember correctly, there's a not-fully-implemented pokemon in one of the old smash games: Ditto. It was supposed to transform into one of the players and mess around.

Zoroark could be just like that if they make him a playable character or pokeball pokemon.

I officially challenge all Jigglypuff haters to a Brawl game. I will be JP of course.
