Being a respectful person, I think my grandma has the right to hold me back. The reason she won't let me spend my money now is due to her wanting me to buy everyone else christmas presents, which is understandable.
Luckily the GS wait list was more detailed when I went in today, so I actually have a higher chance of getting it launch week!

Getting the Wii U Day 1 solely depends on me getting Cs or above on my report card. If I get any lower, I may lose my computer and my privelege to play video games resulting in getting the Wii U I paid for for Christmas from my brother.
I own a PS1, GBA, GBA SP, Wii (GCN), 360, 3DS, PC (Laptop), Wii U, and PS4.
I used to own a GBC, PS2, and DS Lite

i dont think a crazy gamer bunch before a console launch are a good advisor for threatening between relatives. ( i dont know the age so only u can know the right move)
on topic: nope i wont get it on launch. needs time to proove itself!
plus i will laugh in the future on your measly 32GB "deluxe" cans, which cant even survive the stream of first years digital game flood
lol 32GB in 2012 ...
Already preordered deluxe console and 5 games to go with it. I have faith in Nintendo because the games that they come out with are just plain fun. What I'm not sure about is third party support especially after the new Xbox comes out.

You should definitely save your money and buy others Christmas presents. You already have a 3DS for video games and you can get a Wii U later.
To blessed to be stressed.

Prove what? The Wii U gives you the option to easily add a 4 TB external hard drive if you would like. I am not limited to what Nintendo decides the hard drive I should have or add to the overall cost of the system for a part of it I would rather upgrade anyway. I also wont have to pay for some cruddy proprietary hard drive. On top of all that I don't have to worry about an internal hard drive being another thing that could mess up my system. In 2012 having options as a consumer, Imagine that...

That is kinda why I went with the Basic package, not just because the Deluxe were pre-ordered out at the GS I went to, but because there really isn't an advantage with the the Deluxe over the Basic. There is NintendoLand with the Deluxe (which seems more multi-player oriented and I don't have family/friends come over that often to play games), but that is only about a $10 difference for buying the game separately. The digital promotion would only be useful if I planned to purchase a good number of games through it imo, which I'm unsure of atm, and it is for only a limited time. The 32GB is for convenience if you don't have external storage from the very start (which I do have), but at some point 32GB won't be enough so most everyone that touches digital will go get one eventually. All that's left is the color of the console, which I could probably mod myself at a later point in time.
All that put together brought me to the decision that the Basic package was enough for me.

You didn't mention the Wii U GamePad Stand/Cradle Set that retails for $20 that is included with the Deluxe Set. I don't know if you would be interested that or not but it will be a nice place to put your GamePad while not in use.

I was going to make a new thread for this info, but out of fear of the master of locking I will just post this on here. If you have a Target in your area and still don't have a Wii U preordered, get to Target at 8 AM next Tuesday (the 30th). They will have preorder cards available for both the Basic and Deluxe Wii U sets, 5 cards for each. These will guarantee you one on launch day.
That and they do have demo units set up now (at least at some Targets). I will admit the Gamepad was a little smaller than I expected.
