Topic: which Gamecube Mario Party?

If Ninty were to actually release GCN VC games on Wii U before NX arrives,
which 'cube Mario Party games were the best from 4 5 6 7 and 8 ?
Ive heard mostly 4 6 n 7, any thoughts?

I think 4 5 and 6 are the best Mario Parties. I love the minigames they have, and the boards are all different and unique. 7 was okay, the eight player minigames were the best part of the game, to me. And Mario Party 8... not too good, in my opinion. I think the minigames weren't to creative, and the boards were kinda generic. That's just my opinion, though. So in short, 4 5 and 6 would be my choices for GCN VC Mario Party games.

6, just for the microphone minigames. Those were so much fun.

@BearHunger: do u NEED the mic?
are there specialty mini-games playable only with the mic?
or is it optional? all the copies on Amazon seem to be lacking the mic...

Mario Party 8 was a Wii game (which has a better chance of being released on Wii U than GC games!) Anyway, I'm not particularly fond of any of the GC Mario Parties, although people generally say 4 or 5 were the best. The mic isn't required in 6 and 7, but there are mic-only minigames you'll miss out on by not having one.

my bad on mario party 8 being on wii, shows how long ive been outta the party loop. its been since N64 dayz
i wanted to get into 10 but couldnt be convinced to buy it based on what everyone said about it.
i think ill look into getting a mic and Mario Party 6. its been a long time since MP1 n 2 D

We already have two Gamecube discussion threads here. We don't really need to make new threads to talk about individual games we want to see on the Wii U Virtual Console. Just keep such discussion in the existing threads.

@briwipdx: There are five mic minigames. The mic is optional for those minigames, but there are a few commands that can only be done using the mic. Plus in multiplayer I found saying the commands more fun than selecting them.

5 has a few of my favorite mini-games but it also does a lot wrong in general; 6 I played wayyyy too much and cannot stand to play the boards on it anymore. Haven't played 4 in while, that might be the best one, I just remember the boards being kind of lame and the mini mushroom powerup to be a lame idea. I really don't like gimmick boards, I prefer the original style; 6 and 7 had a bunch of gimmick boards.

2 and 3 are the best, lol. That being said 4, 5, and 6 aren't bad, it's just a shame because if you combined all the good things in each of those you'd have the ultimate Mario Party experience, it's just a shame each one has it's own way it messed things up a little.

8 is for Wii. 7 is my favourite GameCube Mario Party, it has a lot of content, although the visuals are a bit rough.

Oh, 9 and 10 are too disappointing!

The DS one is good, and that one has chances of coming to the VC.

Unfortunately, I never played any of the Game Cube games. Though I hear 5 had elements from paper Mario in it, so I'd like to see that one.

@Morpheel: Oh I totally forgot about that one! That one is fantastic if only for being portable and having download play so you only need one copy of the game.

I think the relation to Paper Mario in 5 is that your hosts are the star sprites.

5 and 7 is where it's at.

7 being my favorite out of them all (You do not need the mic to play the mic games)

I only cared about 5, so...yeah.

I only had 5. Pretty great minigames and a good ammount of content

MP4, it's the last one that's like the original that isn't boring, but anything they put up I'll download cause they're all okay I guess.

I guess 4. Mario Party 5 was dreadfully painful, and 6&7 were nearly the same exactly game and felt rushed

I really didn't like MP5 either. It was dull, most of the orbs were useless or didn't get activated much. They took away Chance Time for the Miracle orbs which you needed 3 of them at once to make it work which was a pain to make happen. DK was removed for his own space, which is mixed, I like the mini games but I don't get why they had to remove DK the way they did. Is that a Rare thing?

Just get a baby keyboard at Walmart it's the same thing.
