In Metroid's case, for better or for worse, a lot of fans seem to think Other M doesn't count because it sucked, so in their mind, there's been 6 years since the last new Metroid game.
Personally, I'd rather Metroid lie dormant for the next 6 or 7 years, until we've all forgotten what Other M even was...
Release dates for all games due out in 2014 for Wii U & what we can expect in 2015.
I most want to see a new Star Fox game that would be perfect
Also like to see some remakes of Gamecube games in HD bundles on disc like the PS3 has with many games.
If they don't announce free ice cream for all I am going to be devastated.
My wishes:
Zelda U - gameplay
Metroid Prime U - gameplay and online mp confirmed
One gamecube remake per month
X confirmed for Xmas
Hyrule Warriors to be good!
Mario Kart DLC of all previous tracks if not already included in MK8
RE0-3/CV remake. Remade in modern style with difficulty, ammo limits and puzzles intact from originals
My expectations:
70% 3DS games
All previously announced Wii U games (that still exist) shown off in some form
SNES Remix
Zelda U - 4 photos
N64 games for VC or some more remakes announced
I'd not be happy if Mario Kart 8 Wii U has DLC I want a full game with all the tracks & karts & you unlock them by playing the game. Not buy the game with only 80% of content & you have to buy the rest of the tracks for example, That would suck it's a £40.00 game as it is.

Nintendo is not EA. They will give you a complete game. Think of the DLC tracks as map packs in first person shooters.
Formally called brewsky before becoming the lovable, adorable Yoshi.
Now playing:
Final Fantasy XIV (PC) | The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Switch) | Celeste (Switch)
Could not have said it better myself. It seems to me that most of these complaints about Nintendo 'ignoring' their IPs are coming from younger people who haven't experienced the gap in entries like older Nintendo fans have. There was about a ten year gap between Super Metroid and Prime, not to mention the ones you pointed out.
Well, they're used to Pokemon coming out every year or two, not realizing that those games take very little effort to throw together at this point.

I'd assume that if Kart got DLC it would be along the lines of the sort of DLC Nintendo's games have gotten already. Like the "Luigi" DLC for New SMB U which was basically a massive level pack that was also at an increased difficulty. Or the Pikmin 3 DLC which was extra challenges and the later ones were in entirely different settings.
So if there was Mario Kart DLC I'd assume it'd be maybe extra retro track packs down the road, which would be nice. Then maybe new tracks in the theme of games not yet out or just themes that weren't covered. Imagine if the "Wuhu Island" or the DKCR levels in Mario Kart 7 had instead appeared as DLC for Mario Kart Wii around 2010? Why not?

"Don't stir the pot" is a nice way of saying "they're too dumb to reason with"
Smash and Zelda are a given. I wonder if Majora's Mask is tied in with the latest Wii U Zelda which is supposed to be largest project team ever in Nintendo if I recall.
The director also promised to shake up the series so I want to see that as well.
I also want to see some diverse announcements.
For example
Okay so i know this thread is already huge but i'd like to throw my hat in.I think with Wii U's troubles Nintendo needs back off all the 3DS announcements ,and focus on Wii U. My wishlist would be
Legend of Zelda U reveal
Excite Racing by Monster Games (feature trucks, cars ,and bikes)
Metroid (hopefully Prime style with both gamepad ,and wii remote controls)
Startropics
Star Fox
Kid Icarus (either Uprising HD ,or new game)
Luigi's Mansion (either a new game ,or remake of one of the other games)
Wario Land/ Wario World sequel
Gamecube games on eshop
......the reality of it? though
Legend of Zelda gets revealed ,but no release date
Super Smash Bros ,and Bayonetta 2 get release dates
Yarn Yoshi ,and Hyrule Warriors gets an official names ,and release dates
DS Virtual Console games ,and how they are played will be revealed
They'll talk up a bunch of indie games with some getting release dates ,and some new ones being revealed
We'll get a bunch of 3DS announcements
We'll get a reveal of a casual game like Animal Crossing, Wii Sports/Wii Play-like game that's coming out this year
Then we may get an announcement of 1 ,or 2 actual "core" games coming out for this holiday
As far as metroid i don't think we'll get an announcement on it as much as a tease.
Current Switch Games: Super Mario Odyssey, Legend of Zelda BoTW, Mario Kart 8, Splatoon 2, Resident Evil Revelations Collection, Doom, Skyrim, Rogue Trooper, Volgarr the Viking, Blaster Master Zero, Elliot Quest, and Rive
how about my list
-mario
-dont get third party support
-dont buy sega or capcom

Monster Hunter 4 Wii U
N acquiring the rights to De Blob and announcing a new title in the series.
Kid Icarus Uprising Wii U
HD F-Zero GX
HD Sin & Punishment 1&2
Capcom announcing Capcom Vs Studio Ghibli as a Wii U exclusive (a long shot for sure, but why stop at vs Tatsunoko?)
Devils Third announced as an exclusive title
A Cave Story sequel, or Ghosts and Goblins, given the 3D World treatment and published by N
More crossover type games like Hyrule Warriors to draw attention back to "forgotten" franchises
Announcing the beginning of Mario's "Lost Years"... A 2-3 year hiatus for the Mario Bros on both consoles. Perhaps a Nintendo franchise crossover game where characters team up to solve the mystery of the brothers disappearance. The story would be continued in DLC and maybe in spin off retro game releases, and then end with the announcement of a new game at E3 2016 that wouldn't be released until the holiday season of that year.
but in all seriousnessmy list
-devils third exclusive
-recover account option
-games tied to accounts not console
-zelda definite happening
-nintendo becomes the pimps of developers and buy more studios
-madworld 2
-metroid
-miyamotos new ip hopefully to do with zombies
-nintendo buy zombi u ip
-nintendo pull of somthing awsome
Punch Out WiiU or Mario Strikers WiiU by Next Level Games announced
Sonic BOOM trailer
Indie-games montage
Bayonetta 2 trailer & official release date
Miyamoto's new IP announced
New collaboration game announced
Hyrule Warriors info & trailer
Super Mario Galaxy HD Collection announced
New Sports for Wii Sports: Club announced
That's probably not far off of what we could see to be honest. That's a pretty safe list while also including room for a new title or two. I'm sure Nintendo won't blow everyone out of the water, but they will be looking to do a little better than they did at last year's E3. Luckily, Mario Kart 8 will be released right before E3, so they should have a little momentum already.
A sneak peek at Retro Studio's new game
Miyamoto's new IP
Release dates for Smash, X, and Bayonetta 2
New characters announced for Smash
Trailer for Yarn Yoshi and FExSMT
