Just for information purpose.

Wii u came out 2012
Switch came out 2017
It’s obvious it will have better spec but the Wii u games still look absolutely beautiful.

Some PS3 Games still look amazing to me and that thing is from 2006! Besides that alot of the switch games look like they would easily have been possible on wii u. Honestly graphics wise i haven't seen alot of switch games that look beyond what was possible on wii u. Take smash for example. I really don't see much difference.

Games in general are reaching that point. Breath of the Wild is leaps ahead of Twilight Princess, but it's also on the Wii U. I doubt the Switch will get much better.

I distinctly remember Mario Kart 8 blowing me away despite having a 360 and plenty of good games for it for ages and the PS4/Xbox One already being out. Because they just made a more appealing looking game than most big budget games and 60FPS only added to that. Not to mention some excellent use of animation and specific details for the characters.

@Zeldafan79 Except there's a bit of a skewed comparison going on there, because there's literally a MASSIVE factor that's the cause of that, which apparently no one (or hardly anyone) is taking into account:

Simply put: file sizes. Wii U discs are capable of holding 25 GB or considerably more, depending on if the data is compressed or not. Most Switch games come on 8 or 16 GB cartridges. Some with additional downloads, but still, most of them won't even come near those file sizes, compressed or not. So, it's not so much that the hardware isn't more powerful, because it is, but the storage medium is definitely holding it back, so there's either a pretty hefty download with your game purchase, or textures and other assets need to be considerably downscaled, to make them fit on the much smaller capacity medium.

And just in case: that's not just on Nintendo, by the way. If a medium-sized developer like CD Projekt Red can put their entire game on one cartridge, and don't have to think twice about selecting a 32GB cartridge for that, then so can all the other, often far larger developers and publishers, but most of these stingy b****rds simply just go for the cheapest option, and burden the consumers with having to download an extra 10 or 20 GB and having to buy yet another Micro SD card to even be able to play that game...

'The console wars are like boobs: Sony and Microsoft fight over which ones look the nicest and Nintendo's are the most fun to play with.'
