I'm still of the opinion that very few, if any entry in the series deserves to be called great. But that's not the point here. Besides, outside of a port I don't see the WiiU getting any numbered FF game.
@WaltzElf: I like Vanille...haven't I mentioned that before?
@The_Fox: You're only just now STARTING to think that? I've thought that since before XIII launched.
And yeah, I agree with those saying that a new numbered FF on Wii U isn't too likely. I would hope they've learned to give up on Crystal Chronicles after how Crystal Bearer flopped so badly, but I wouldn't be surprised if they gave it another go anyway. Or they could make some new spin-off like they did with 4 Heroes of Light. I very much doubt Wii U will have NO Final Fantasy, at any rate.
My Backloggery Updated sporadically. Got my important online ID's on there, anyway. :P
It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!

Love em all except for Snow and Hope.
Oh sweet. Time to start a group.

Possibilities, yes, but 4 Heroes of Light seems unlikely to me too - it wasn't a very well received game.
Simple solution? Chocobo Fables/ Chocobo Dungeon. That, or the Final Fantasy VII remake. I see that going to a Nintendo console first.

neither is any recent FF from what I've seen
Sorry I probably should have said "and sold poorly."
I don't think Four Heroes of Light was a commercial success either. I could be wrong though, I didn't follow it too closely.
FFXIII sold very well, and was reasonably popular with critics (85% on gamerankings is right up there for the series). It was just polarising amongst the Final Fantasy fan base.
I want to see a reaction from people who wanted FFVII only to see it remade for another console besides Sony's- or even it going multiplatform.
I predict fanboy rage and claims of "FFVII belongs on Sony consoles!"
But that didn't stop past FF titles before VII to make it on other platforms even though the series started on the NES (as a gamble of "this may be our final game").
There's going to be lots of crying and screaming. And I'd love to watch that for my personal enjoyment :3
I want V VI VII VIII and IX for 3DS and to play my RPG's on the go, it just makes since

Is the 3DS' cartridge size limit enough for VII, VIII and IX?
You can download those games to the PSP via PSN, and the originals (let alone remakes), are over a GB in size - IX is 1500 MB. I'm not sure if the 3DS cartridge can stetch that far, but it certainly means no 3D remake of those games.
How many times have V and VI been re-released? I could see the others getting reissues but let's not enable Squeenix too much.
V hasn't been rereleased very often at all - There was a PlayStation port, a GBA remake and a PS3 version via PSOne Classics.
That's nothing compared to Final Fantasy 1, for instance (Wii Virtual Console, PSOne, PS3, iPhone, iPad, GBA, PSP (Different from the PSOne remake)).
As long as SE keeps finding new ways to remake these games (3D remake, extra dungeons/ content etc etc) I don't mind these remakes - worst case scenario is I simply don't buy them, but at least they're there for people that do want them.
