Knowing Square, it will just be another Crystal Chronicles game since that seems to be "Nintendo's Final Fantasy" the last two console generations.

I love the Crystal Chronicles games more than the original FF titles. I can see Wii U really benefitting from a new FFCC game especially when the 3DS can be used as a potential controller- just like the original did with GBAs. It certainly going to be more ambitious.

It'd be nice if there was a new FFCC game on 3DS and you can use your character from that game in the WiiU version. Sakurai is doing something similar (or at least planning) with Smash Bros. WiiU and 3DS.

Maybe a FFCC cross-platform game between the 3DS and WiiU. I'd personally care more for FFCC on this console more than a numbered FF game. Of course, I wouldn't mind if either one were to pay a welcome visit.

On another note: I'm curious to see what happened to DQX and how that's going along.

Me too! I was really hoping to see something about it at E3, but we didn't even get a single word about it. I wonder if they're thinking about moving it over to Wii U.

Well, you'd be crazy to think that DQX would show up at E3- but I'd be a hypocrite if I didn't say I was also looking forward to it, somewhat

It could have been moved to WiiU and it's been mentioned by the creator that it's "Near complete" a few months ago. I'd expect more news definitely at TGS this year. And I'm really excited. I'd be kinda bummed if it moved to Wii U. But I would love that game to be on 3DS. DQIX spoiled me.

Not when Nintendo is really trying to push DQ here in the states. Lots of people loved DQIX, so I would not be surprised if DQX becomes a launch title for Wii U if it's been moved to the platform. It'd definitely be one of the first titles I'll purchase with WiiU- a great JRPG at that!

How much sway do you think Nintendo has with Square Enix, exactly? It's the biggest independant games publisher in Japan - and an incredibly powerful corporation in the games industry. Nintendo's "push" would be like a kitten hunting a duck if SE doesn't want to do something.

Dragon Quest is SE's most valuable property in Japan. If a numbered game in that series doesn't sell obscenely well, it's going to be viewed as a failure and the value of SE's shares will take a big hit.

It's a deliberate strategy SE has with the series - release it at the peak for any given console and gain maximum exposure. The problem with the launch of a console is that there will not be enough raw numbers in hardware terms to reach the sales targets SE would set.

Game releases are not done on a "this would be nice" decision. It's a concentrated strategy, especially for the really valuable IPs. As much as Nintendo, Sony or Microsoft might like to push SE, there is no way a Dragon Quest game would launch the Wii U, PS4 or Xbox 720.

Final Fantasy VII and VIII remakes would take me in consideration buying a Wii U...

Well, it seems that the Dragon Quest games are making a home on Nintendo's platforms whilst the recent Final Fantasy titles (besides Crystal Chronicles) are home to 360 and PS3. Nintendo has been publishing DQ here in the states and it has been much more successful that it was back then. NoA has been doing a great job in their partnership with Square-Enix. You may say that SE likes Sony more than Nintendo- that's really irrelevant (you said it before in another post and I retaliated in a ridiculous comment on purpose). DQX is being published by Nintendo (not sure in Japan, but Iwata and the creator of DQ were together in the announcement of DQ but I think it was about pushing DQ further in the states).

If SE wanted to, they could set X to be a launch title for the next console. I would like to see it on WiiU but have absolutely no problems with it coming onto Wii. of course not! But I admit, I would have loved it if DQX came to the 3DS instead. DQIX has really spoiled me- as well as DQVI

DQ is the considered least popular here in the states and SE seems to be very comfortable with Nintendo publishing and marketing their games. Else, we wouldn't have seen DQVI, the upcoming Fortune Street or most imporatantly DQX coming to Wii and published by Nintendo. That's why I really don't believe the nonsense of "Square-Enix likes Sony more than Nintendo" "SE hates Nintendo" BS that keeps going around. Sure, *maybe& SE likes Sony more, but really, does it matter?

It sure doesn't to me.

Now, in regards to FF... I really really want another Crystal Chronicles game. And if it's going to follow the "Crystal Bearers", well... Just have it play like the other FFCC titles. It was fun picking people up and throwing them around- as well as being chased down by them beach girls if you mess with them. The game sure had a great concept but the combat was kinda lacking. And the voice actors.. Well, they seem to have gotten a lot better down the line, interesting enough...

This whole thing with SE and Ninty started when the Nintendo's previous president badmouthed SE for putting Final Fantasy VII on the PSX. Things were said that could never be unsaid and naturally there were bad feelings all around. If SE was just going to put some more Crystal Chronicles on the Wii U that would hardly be worth announcing, not that those aren't good games but it's nothing that we don't expect. I'm hoping that the 2 companies will kiss and make up and hopefully there will be hugs all around and Ninty will finally be able to cash in all of that Final Fantasy love it's been missing out on.

If they meant Crystal Chronicles they could've just said so. There's no use in getting our hopes up. All I want is FF XV on the Wii U. I'm not a big fan of Final Fantasy XIII-2, I liked the ending of Final Fantasy XIII. But if it gets ported to the Wii U then I won't complain, as it would signify the beginning of a hopefully long-standing relationship between Square Enix and Nintendo.

I know I'm in a microscopic minority, but I want a Crystal Bearers sequel! There was something truly special inside that game and it would be a shame not to see it reach its full potential.

Well, they don't know what they want to bring to the Wii U yet. Could be anything at this point. I think it all depends on how the Playstation and Xbox successors do.

Eh, I think they made up years ago. I mean, it isn't 1998. It's 2011. Them hard feelings is and should be gone now...

I'd really like a FF game in the visual style of Crystal Chronicles/FFIX but with the gameplay mechanics of FFVII and an epic story similar to that of FFVI or FFVIII.
