CQCs tend to be REALLY difficult, but it's always a matter of moving a little bit away from the enemy and then attack; that's why I have Ink Resistence with 3 Swim Speed Up subs and a main Walk Speed Up. With a main Damage Up added, you just need one full charged shot and then just a slight press to splat the other squids. It's very interesting to use.
But put me against a couple of E Liters in an open map and I'll have a really hard time. That's why I hate Moray Towers.
@TheXReturns: Worked out the issues with the poll. Looking forward whatever comes together!
@shani: Awesome! Should be free this weekend for some extended splatting. If you're available, I'll be on at least much of the day tomorrow.
That goes for anyone else who is available, since I have three kids (including a baby...) my free time can get pretty spotty even though I try to get at least a few rounds in each day to stay fresh. So when I get an open weekend, you can bet my Luna Blaster is going to have to be peeled out of my hands...
@Freeon-Leon: Ahh, the good ol' Bamboozler. The problem is my poor Gamepad. With a wife who is an avid splatter (female gamers are often among the most accomplished button mashers) and two young kids who adore everything Nintendo... I fear the day my precious trigger lets me down in the middle of a match. With the Luna I can hold the trigger and hop into swim and repeat. Also it speaks to my deeply ingrained bunnyhopping Team Fortress Classic days, so it's kind of made for me.
Besides, after extensive shooter use my wrists woukd flare up after long sessions so the blasters looked pretty alluring. Particularly once they nerfed the splash damage since I so despised Luna users who were all Damage Ups that I basically forsook the gun entirely.
OK, that was a bit of a ramble, but along those lines I'd be interested in hearing what led other players into their current mains. I imagine many have a similarly circuitous path to their current main.
@TheXReturns: Sweet, will do. Added you as well. Unfortunately will be busy today, but like I said at least tomorrow is reserved for splatting, if not much of the weekend. If you're around we can mix it up as a Luna + Roller duo. I can already taste the delicious salt.
@ACK I'm not a big fan of the motion controls, (despite never playing a shooter before, so both control schemes were new) so I'm best with the Splat Roller, where I don't have to aim precisely dead-on. I used to use the Krak-On, but I switched to the Splat Roller after the roller nerf, and I haven't looked back since (before this afternoon, where I used it when squadding with Jazzer to decent effect.)
With a main Damage Up added, you just need one full charged shot and then just a slight press to splat the other squids. It's very interesting to use.
Yeah I actually trained that a bit and it was really interesting. Still, when I tried out a charger, I played more with the Squiffer and the Splatlings. I'm getting slowly better at them, but still not good enough. But to be honest I don't put too much time into them right now.
@ACK: Nice! Just @ me or anyone else who's interested in playing, I think I should have some time on my hands during this weekend.
And regarding your mains question: I started out with the regular Splattershot and stuck with it the first weeks until I played the Aerosprays at a friend's console. I immediately unlocked them at home because playing with full firerate was just soo satisfying (also, it didn't require perfect aim and was very ink-efficient, but I only realised this later)! I still played with the Splattershot and occasionally with the N-Zap '89 but in the first months the Aerosprays were my main.
One day I got fed up by the short range of the Aerosprays in ranked and it was then that I discovered the usefulness of Echolocator. So from that moment on, I played an awful lot with the N-Zap '85 and started to get used to the Dual Squelcher (also the Jet Squelcher a bit, but I mastered that weapon only recently). Over time, these two weapons became my new mains. And they still are.
I also sometimes went back to the Splattershot for SZ. After several months, I started trying out new weapons again, especially the Nozzlenoses, the Splatlings and the Slosher. For a time, the Slosher was my TW weapon. The Splash-o-matic also became my TW and SZ favourite after I started to appreciate Suction Bombs, especially in a bomb rush.
Eventually I ended up playing with the Custom Jet Squelcher, learned to use the Kraken and now I'm quite comfortable with it too. And I'm getting better and better with the Slosher Deco for TC, it would be my first non-shooter main.
I also fiddled with the Forge Splattershot Pro and I'm looking forward to the upcoming Berry Splattershot Pro. After mastering the Custom Jet Squelcher I also started to play with the Gals but I'm not good at them yet (slow movement speed). Also tried out rollers, squiffers, blasters and brushes for a short period, just to better understand how they work. This actually helped me a lot, for example now I know how hard it is to play with the awfully slow Dynamo Roller.
So now, my mains are the Dual Squelcher, N-Zap '85, Custom Jet Squelcher, Splattershot and Splash-o-matic. Hopefully, I can soon add the Slosher Deco and Berry Splattershot Pro to that. And I'm working on adding the L-3 Nozzlenose D to that list, getting better with it too. For more details, see my Splatnet profile.
And I still haven't mastered the Splatlings - which was my goal when they were released - not even the Mini Splatling. If I should one day even master the Mini and Hydra Splatling, I think I will officially have finished the game. ^^
@Kazuo: Yeah, with the same weapon and outfit! (We can use the barett until you reach level 50) It's weird seeing a NL Slosher without the Captain's Hat, Blue Sailor Suit, and Cyan Trainers! XD I wonder why...@pikminfan22
I got stuck in the lobby too. I'm in! Try and join me!
Had some problems connecting to the server or something (yet it didn't kick me out of the lobby section so idk). Restarting my Wii u to see if it works now.
Hmm, there doesn't seem to be any maintenance.
Also miiverse works fine. It's just when I checked my friend's list and went online in Splatoon
