@shani: While that's true, I have a hard time thinking it'll be supported throughout the summer.

Nerf any blaster, and I'll be happy! Lol XD Luna and the custom range Blaster are the ones that bother me the most. They are the reason why I stopped playing so much Tower Control... I think they're WAY too good in the mode!

Yeah those two are the ones that splatted me the most, I would love to see them nerfed too. @Grumblevolcano: What makes you think that? I think there's actually a great chance that MM support will continue for quite some time. Because of the nature of the game (where adding few new tools is relatively easy but can have a big impact), but also because of the event courses. I was against that flood of new costumes at first, but they are superior to the first 100 in that you only need to complete one level to get them. So at least we can count on a steady flow of new costumes for new story level ideas. But I think the tool support could also go on for a while longer.

That's true, as long as they don't notice you too early, you can splat them. But in a face-to-face battle they're really strong (and annoying ).
Anyway, I didn't have too many difficulties with the gal decos, at least not in a way that they would stand out.

Especially the .96 Deco... it has the Splash Wall to protect the user for the brief moment they need to splat you! lol XD Totally agree that they're OP.

@PikminFan22: Yeah, the only way to beat a Luna in face-to-face situations is evading or starting to shoot earlier than them.
I always saw the .52 as a good weapon for newcomers, it needs only two hits (unless the enemy has defense up and you don't have damage up) and the ink usage is manageable. I recently tried it out and it was better than I thought. ^^ The .96 has really great stats, but you have to be really good at aiming because of the fire rate. And it's really heavy, so you're extremely slow while strafing (even with run speed up). That said, if a player is skilled enough (I know I'm not, I was always a high-firerate guy, I just managed to get by with the Jet Squelcher/Splattershot Pro's relatively low firerate) to obliterate those weaknesses, the .96 becomes OP indeed.

@Blue_Blur Nerf the blasters, nerf the E-Liters, nerf the Decos.

But honestly, in my opinion, the Decos would be fine with an ever so slight fire rate decrease, and blasters would be fine with a slight streamlining of the blasterbolt.

Having seen what I assume is wave 1, I also kinda hope that there's a roller in wave two of Judd's picks...

I also think blasters (especially Luna) and Gals are a bit OP. I mean, I wouldn't have much problem if they didn't shoot as long as a Bamboozler, but they do! And it becomes really annoying sometimes.

kind of weird that no one is discussing match throwers, the continued corpse kills & ink still not registering on your opponents! I know my kidsn& I are not the only ones noticing these issues.fun game but it seems like every splatoon forum toes the company line instead of addressing some of the glaring foolishness in game

Not here to pick on anyone or stirr the pot by the way. but we are getting frustrated w/ the lack of regional servers to deal w/ horrible lagg issues. moderating / monitoring to deal w/ the prejudiced, anti semetic
& horrible in game character names .we've had teamates named Christ killer & KKK..my kids have played against squids named"notajewboy",nazi love & "dumbwhite". Come on! the game needs a system in place to Flagg these buzzards no matter the age.my kids are being exposed to this nonsense & we all LOOOOOVE this game.

@hinkuleez for me I usually haven't had too many problems with lag, but I do remember one match where I was taken out by someone I had defeated several seconds earlier. I have heard from some people that they seem to experience this fairly often though. It doesn't look like regional servers will be added in, but u think it is possible. However with the relatively small install base of the Wii U, I'm not sure if it will be easy to find matches in some regions.

As with inappropriate names, after your match you can back out and go to your friend's list then choose users played with. From there you can tap on the mini with the name and go to their miiverse profile to report their name. Also you can block them so that you won't run into them again.

@hinkuleez: Since the game is P2P, the lag is mainly caused by the player connections. I don't experience that there is less lag in the regional Spaltfests (quite the contrary actually).

TheXReturns

@hinkuleez I'm sorry you've experienced these problems, but personally, I'm afraid I've never experienced any of them. I know from others that match-throwers are an issue, and certainly some on this site have experienced them. Are you in C rank by any chance? I'd expect match-throwers in ranked tend to congregate down in the lower ranks, unfortunately...

Ink not registering on your opponents is purely a graphical thing, I think. Occasionally it's hard to tell how much you've hit them, as they appear not to have any ink, but it will have shown up on their screen.

If you ARE in C/B rank, that would also explain the lag, as again, laggy players will lose points and congregate in lower ranks. If not... I honestly don't know. You must be really unlucky to keep getting put with laggers.

As for not mentioning it, it's entirely that we haven't experienced it. Could you include examples, of what specifically is happening, as we might be able to help?

@TheXReturns: fortunately we fluctuate between A-& A+..as a 48 year old parent of 3 (11-17)
we pride ourselves on how well we play this title. in fact we have two wii u systems & 4 other gaming consoles.ps3,ps4,xbox 360 & xbox 1.we had to pick up another wii u because in the early stages of splatoon
It was the marquee game for the fam' my wife even enjoys it but for the past 4 months we've experienced
Match throwing & revenge slumming from a myriad of ethnicities & age groups. Most of the revenge slumming comes from American players..you know?..u beat em' a few times and then when they're on your team they grief shoot ya' or do nothing in match out of spite. But the match throwing is prevalent when we have our Japanese family on our teams. We've experienced
.high level players intentionally hangin' out at the spawn point. & if u dare ask em' to "COME ON" they:
1.turn on you & shoot at ya' repeatedly
2.squid dance around ya' in some form of mockery?... we don't know WHAT that iz'
3.players will mysteriously "BAMMFF"..you know?.like night crawler of the x-men?
leave the match & leave you behind to..wait for iiit...be SMASHED by the other team!!
it happens far far far far far far too often for it to be connection issues or bathroom runs!
We find ourselves runnin' for our squid lives in these 4 on 1/4on 2 situations. Fighting valiantly. ..
But gettin' our a#$es handed to us repeatedly!
4.squid partying while the other team iz' dead a#$ SERIOUS! match after match after match!
U have to clock out on several teams an hour to avoid losing too much rank.
cool to see squids enjoin That
in turf warz..but ranked seems to be a lot more serious & cutthroat.
finally ..on behalf of my fam ..I've been calling nintendo for the past two months asking for these issues to be addressed (thanx for the tip on how to report ) sunday feb.6th I called the supervisory number & demanded a refund.with the caveat of repurchasing when the game reaches the level provided by other multiplayer games. (even plant vs zombies 2 offers regional play for servers in your region)
Nintendo customer service can't..won't..or don't even tell u where the servers are for you region.
After outlining in my grievances he placed $10.00 in my eshop account..probably. a pattern response to complainers like myself. it's just sad that my kids no longer play splatoon due to this MESS..I'me the last splat zone solider in my household..& i'me considering turning in my blue jet squelcher & heavy splashing deco..see what battle front, plants vs zomb and battlefield iz' all about

@yokokazuo: thanx for the tip & lucky you for having players with great ping and good ping yourself! We have time Warners' best plan and experience this only when playing splatoon. Well I experience it.. because my squid kids no longer play. The title iz hot enough to wish it worked better for us

Like to aknowledge that kids could be playing on thier adult/big brother or sister account & goofing around. That could explain a lot of what we're experiencin'. PeAcE .....and if anyone has a skylanders light or dark trap for sale @ a decent price? Hit me up

Yup, blasters are the most annoying things in Splatoon. What bothers me the most about them is their "damage window." It's too wide! Otherwise I think blasters have decent damage power, but the crazy way they can splat anyone that's not even in the season's line of fire needs to be fixed.
So yeah... Blasters need nerfing.

God first.

@hinkuleez: I don't know what a match thrower or a corpse killer is, but if you experience lag (ink not registering), your internet connection is most likely the cause. I only experienced noticeable lag when I played at a friend's (horrible internet) or when I was staying in Berlin at a friend's flat. At home, with a fast internet connection, I never had any significant lag.
Also, I didn't recognise any differences between normal (global) play and (regional) Splatfests. So while the distance technically can create a lag of course, it's not suffice to cause such a huge lag as you described it, at least not on such a regular basis (it can happen due to the distance, but only rarely).

If you are a family of five, it doesn't seem far fetched that you just got too many devices online (smartphones, PC's, consoles etc) which causes a lag. Or the wifi signal of your router could be disturbed (in that case a repeater would help) or maybe your ISP just delivers slow internet (or it's slower than it should be, a few speedtests should clear that up). I don't know, these are just some suggestions to look into.
It has nothing to do with 'toeing the company line', in fact, you will likely find several users complaining about things. And I'm not saying every single lag is caused by bad internet, but from my experience it makes up 90% of those cases. You could also try a wired connection with the LAN adapter to rule out disturbances by all the online devices I'm assuming you have at home.

Regarding the inappropriate names, I never saw those, but as @yokokazuo wrote, there is already a way to flag them as Nintendo of course already thought of this in the name of protecting children from that nonsene. You can (and should) just report them to Nintendo. That way you can actually help getting rid of those players.

Honestly, in over 400 hours of play, I never experienced any of these things. Except for #3 and guess what: That's what a disconnect looks like, the player just vanishes. They don't do it on purpose.

I find it almost cute that you went through all that trouble and actually called them to demand updates/a refund.
You have to realise that there is a reason why there are no regional servers (most probably user base). MK8 has regional play and honestly, I never used it once. Why should I? It just reduces the probability of getting a full race with 12 players.
Similarly, I don't want a regional option in Splatoon, because it would thin out the user base and then you would really have problems finding 8 players to start a match. I'm talking from experience here, this actually happened a few times during Splatfest, but never in a normal, global game.
S I don't really know what you mean with "when the game reaches the level provided by other multiplayer games". You're comparing apples with oranges, Plants vs. Zombies is not only a very simple game with a huge player base, (if I'm not mistaken) it's also a 1vs1 game, not a team game.

And this not aimed at you (because I don't know you), but usually when I see players complaining about lag/disconnect, I immediately think "Ah, probably a person who just bought any internet plan and doesn't have a clue/doesn't care about choosing the right provider and setting things up properly". But as I said, in the end this is just a prejudice of mine and maybe you are a totally tech-savvy guy who knows his router stuff but still gets bad internet because the provider just doesn't deliver.
