Topic: Should Wii U Chat be removed from the Wii Menu?

I looked Miiverse about Wii U Chat, and things are not going so well. It seems lots of users on Miiverse saying on their profile like "No Wii U Chat." and "I don't Wii U Chat," so I decided to ask everyone to remove Wii U Chat from everyone's Wii U Menu. I have contacted Nintendo about this, and nothing has happened. And the other reason is that their parents won't allow to use Wii U Chat. So everyone, please contact Nintendo to get rid of Wii U Chat forever, because it is a useless app for everyone. And it will be updated soon as possible, after you have contacted Nintendo about this.

While I'm sure the majority of Wii U owners don't use it (some people can't use it, most people use better alternatives like Skype), I don't really see the point of Nintendo removing it. Its just going to take up man-hours that Nintendo employees could be using on more productive things. I'm sure you can live without the small amount of internal storage that Wii U Chat uses up, and you can always move the Wii U Chat icon to the last screen of the menu if it bothers you that much and never see it again.

What's wrong with Wii U chat, I admit I haven't used it yet because I haven't met anyone I wanted to use it with, but the U's gamepad seems perfect for video conferencing, if anything I'd like to see it work with third party services like Skype (or does it already, never checked).

The point is it will be updated, and Wii U Chat will be removed from the Wii U Menu, so you don't bother it at all. ? :s

Removing it would be wasted effort. It's there, and some people (including me) use it from time to time. Preparing a patch to remove the program entirely would take some time, and the benefit from not having it would be negligible. If people don't use it, they don't use it. No need to remove it for those who actually do use it.

I don't have a WiiU but I'm sure what would be the outcome if Nintendo removed another thing like that
"nintendo removed WiiU chat they are horrible people who hate the fans, worst company ever " but on thousands of threads flooding all the Nintendo related forums know by mankind, kinda like it was with Swapnote

Be grateful you have the option. I'd love 3DS chat. Why take a step backwards?

Anyway, I dunno. People don't use it, but if it went away, people'd be begging for the option to come back.

I'm not really sure why you're expecting a response to this. They're not going to make a decision like this based on one suggestion...

Nintendo would simply look at any of such requests laugh and trash them.

Pretty much what Gus said. I don't even think anybody used Swapnote much, because other forms of communication were so much more convenient. That didn't stop the wave of hate from Nintendo cancelling it though

Also, I don't own a WiiU but if I were to say play MH with friends, could WiiU chat be used as a picture-in-picture thing? That might actually be useful.

I was disappointed when they ended the Spotpass feature in Swapnote. I got some true gems from my friends. At least the Streetpass feature still works!
