Please note that Brink, Bulletstorm, some random shooter from THQ and a few others are not shown.
But at the end of the day. It's all the same s**t.
But BF3 is going to win.. I hope :3
The funny thing is, if you were to show this to your average 8-15 year old gamer, they would most likely say: "This looks great! I can't wait to play all of these M-rated games on my X-box 360/PS3!"
Ew, just ew....lol I'd be interested in Dead Island, but it's most likely going to be another Left 4 Dead. I hate mindless shooting....I want puzzles to solve, back tracking, saving amunition wisely.....Oh wait.....RESIDENT EVILLLLLL
Anyways, i don't give a rats for 90% of these american developers. Looking at my 30 something wii collection. The only american developer-based titles i have are Punch-Out!!(amazing!) Excitebots(Bug nuts awesome!), Dead Space: Extraction, A Boy & his Blob and Silent Hill: Shattered Memories(such a weak SH, but the wii pointer controls are flippin' fantastic and unique involving yet simplistic pointer controller puzzles are ace!)
But yup! Wayforward and Next level are the only American developers I keep an eye out for, then again....Isn't half of Retro Studios based in texas and the rest are at Nintendo in Japan?
1. Dead Island is an open world zombie game with quests and stuff and could possibly have some great story elements. 2. There's still some fighting games, racing games and Western RPGs at least. Sometimes. 3. For the rest, yeah if I want to play indy games, I'll probably just go on the internet. 4. Your post is still mostly true.

Indeed, I was talking to one of the 9 year olds at a day care I work at and he kept talking to me about Dead Rising 2 and Assassin's Creed Brotherhood (although he did tell me something I didn't know about Dead Rising 2 since I had just started it) but after that I was like "So is there anything you play that ISN'T bloody and violent?" and he was like "No." The 12 year old beside me started laughing. It's like whenever people find out I have an XBox 360 first question they ask is "You play COD?" and I'm like "EWWW! Hell no!" lol
ah, but how many of those will sell more than even one of the shooters named? (Journey's likely gonna make Dead Space Extraction look like RE4 in terms of sales)
So it'll be like stupid people buying NSMBWii instead of Little King's Story and Muramasa. Makes sense to me actually.
A Nintendo console more powerful then the PS3? Pfffff Don't make me laugh! The Wii U is an embarrassment to gaming.

Call of Duty aside (nothing can beat that franchise's sales) - Assassin's Creed, Skyrim, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Tomb Raider, Uncharted 3 and Batman are all going to be blockbusters that sell at least as well as something like Dust 514, Prey, Dead Island and the like.
Or at least I'd hope so. If the top 10 PS3/ Xbox 360 game sales for 2011 are all FPSers, with the quality of other games available, I'm going to give up this hobby.
I play the games I like, I assume everyone else does. While I do have an opinion, really I couldn't care what everyone else plays.
Will you stop listening to music if people continue to listen to songs you don't like?
there you go, bringing the Earth Logic again... haven't you learned anything? lol
BEST THREAD EVER future of NL >:3
[16:43] James: I should learn these site rules more clearly
[16:44] LztheBlehBird: James doesn't know the rules? For shame!!!

Because if the top 10 selling games for a console are all shooters, it means that it won't be long until the only blockbusters are shooters.
Or something something. It's also possible I was doing this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperbole Given you've used sarcasm in the past I'm going to assume you understand its application.

Fair enough. No need to get all defensive.
If you get defensive again, I'm never playing Battletoads again. Ever. For a whole week.
folks need to ease up on the console bashing. although that picture of all the FPSers was pretty funny. the vast majority of what I play on my PS3 is the whimsical, lighthearted goodness that Nintendo is known for — like littlebigplanet and costume quest and might and magic. If you go ahead and get another console nobody is going to force you to buy call of duty — although you might want to because it's pretty fun probably
I do concede that this argument kind of makes sense: if you really hate FPSers with a passion then it makes sense to be worried that their amazing popularity will encourage studios to put all of their money into making them and leaving you with less and less of what you want. ... that is kind of scary now that I think about it...
