I'm not sure if anyone on this forum follows IGN's coverage of Nintendo, but it has always (especially lately) seemed horribly biased against the big N. Many recent articles on the site have countered any positive headline for Nintendo with an unnecessary recap, and sarcastic response to, Nintendo's financial troubles .. I just noticed today that IGN hasn't even bothered to change their URL for the Wii U page, it still reads "www.ign.com/wii..." where Playstation's is "/PS4" and Xbox's is "/Xbox-one". This isn't so much of a big deal, but it is kind of a duck move considering they constantly criticize Nintendo for consumer's not understanding the Wii U is a new console.
Does anyone else feel like this type of reporting, and website negligence is irresponsible, and negatively affects sales of the console?
IGN has been known to be biased on multiple of occasions... not just Nintendo. They do review Nintendo games in a fair way... SORTA.
Just ignore IGN and only watch their good videos like most people on Youtube.
One last thing....
NEVER READ THE COMMENT SECTION OF ANYTHING IGN RELATED!!! Fanboys and fangirls fight each other like crazy people!
I think it's generally frowned upon to make forum topics specifically for the purpose of hating on other sites, or anything for that matter. Just sayin'...
I really don't see the bias, but noticeable click bait articles. A top homepage (yahoo) is notoriously known for both though. Read some yahoo articles, that's where you'll see true bias.

IGN has plenty of Nintendo fanboys working for them, and for every "negative" article you may find, there are at least two positive ones. They do a weekly podcast thing that is generally pro-Nintendo and they routinely give high scores to first party Nintendo games as well. In fact, they scored the new Yoshi game higher than dear old Nintendo Life.
They recently did a "Favorite Games" series of articles too, and probably 85% of the top games picked were Nintendo ones.
The way IGN is set up pretty much stops any sort of anti-insertcompany name bias. All of the IGN sub sites are ran independtly and are usually ran by hardcore fanboys of the platform. IGN Playstation has Greg, IGN Nintendo has Pear, and IGN Xbox has Ryan.
To be fair IGN Nintendo hasn't been worth it since Rich and Audery left. I still listen to Super NVC but that's mostly out of habit these days.
WAT!
Hey check out my awesome new youtube channel shingi70 where I update weekly on the latest gaming and comic news form a level headed perspective.
I stopped going to IGN years ago, after being very active in their blog community, in the days of Matt Cassamasina and Craig Harris. After they changed to "My IGN" the site took a turn towards the mainstream and I did not like it. So I came here.
I will comment in this thread, never being able to find it again.
IGN don't appear to be biassed against anyone if you ask me. There reporting is often pure flame-bait and they even edit their headlines to twist the knife when they realise they caught themselves a whole load of butthurt fanboys. It's disappointing because it seems like every single website has become far more obsessed with sensationalism and the opinions of corporate lackeys than just explaining games and informing people about stuff. The whole IGN site was a Sony fanboy circle jerk for the last 12 months but now they realise that baiting Sony fans gets lots of hits so the headlines are less positive. I don't think any major site is 100% ethical with reviews and previews but I also think IGN would prefer to keep their reputation for independence than to be constantly accused of being 'dodgy'.
I only posted this to get my avatar as the forum's thumbnail.
Is it 2008 again? I thought we all knew this years ago.
