Topic: My Wii U is showing its age already?

I don't know if anyone else is having this problem, or if it's just me, but my Wii U has been getting slower and slower, almost daily it seems.
By that I mean it takes longer and longer to load things. Just today, when I was booting up Mario Kart 8, it was stuck on the loading screen (The one with just the Mario Kart 8 logo) for about 5 minutes it seemed. Right now I am stuck on one page in Miiverse and it takes a few minutes for me to do anything or go anywhere.
Is this an issue with older Wii U's? I thought Nintendo had a reputation for their hardware lasting a long time.
Thanks in advance.

I haven't had any issues with my launch one. If anything it's getting faster.

Well with Miiverse it could be your internet connection as for Mario Kart is it a disc or download?

Don't really know what to tell you had my Wii U since launch night and with the updates it loads things a bit faster..

Same here with my launch Wii U.

I suggest contacting Nintendo, they might be able to fix it

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

I have a physical copy of Mario Kart 8. My Wii U is placed a fair amount of distance from my router, but I don't think that's the problem since I didn't have any sort of hiccups just a few weeks ago. I'll try contacting Nintendo.

You may consider power cycling your internet/ wifi. Maybe that could work.

I've had my Wii U since launch, and haven't encountered any issues with loading or anything else.

I know what you mean, I have to support mine with a cane, and the last few days it has been coughing up dust..

In all seriousness; it's still the same Wii U as a year ago, nothing has changed.

Same with others. Mine is getting faster and faster with each update. I would suggest you contacting Nintendo to see what's up. Make sure you back up your saves.

I experienced some sluggishness in the eShop when downloading the walking dead pinbal table, might be incidental.

Mine's had the same issue since the last update which makes me wonder if somehow the update partially bricked an unusually high number of legit non-hacked Wii U's.
