@MegaMari0: It's a fairly good game built around survival, exploration, and creating in a 3d procedurally generated space. It caught on like wildfire online and now it is one of the most bought games ever due to it's constant youtube promotion and enormous online community. (And also because it's pretty well designed to keep you coming back) Although, it isn't for everyone as you'll read as more people comment on is thread.
Oh! wait, now that I think about it, it would be pretty nice to play online with you guys.
The console versions have online, right?
Every other version does.
Besides android...wait...YOU ARE SANTA? SASASASAAAANNNTAAAA!!! let mii sit on your lap and I will tell you what I want for Christmas!...wait where is your jolly o'l face?
Can't wait for this game to have its own community on Miiverse.
I bet there's going to be a lot of SkydoesMinecraft fanboys on there. There's going so much arguments against haters and fanboys on the community.
Some random dude on Nintendo Life.
Toriel left for a while, so Freaky Fred took over her place!
Not changing this part of the signature until Nintendo announces Super Mario Sunshine 2.

Why is it that it's only now that Nintendo gets all these old-ish but great indie games? Seriously, we just got Binding of Isaac and Octodad and in the coming months, we'll likely be getting Minecraft, Teraria, Super Meat Boy and Limbo.
Anyways, it'll be great to see this game come over to Wii U. It lends itself so well to the Gamepad, local multiplayer and Miiverse, so I do hope it comes shortly after the Direct. I've got my eShop points card at the ready.
Also, interesting to point out, is that a year ago, Shigeru Miyamoto mentioned saying he wanted Minecraft on Wii U. Glad to see it's finally happening.

First of all, Minecraft is not an indie anymore. It's owned by Microsoft since a year ago. I'm pretty sure Notch+Nintendo was the reason why Minecraft didn't appear on the Wii U before. Nintendo usually don't pay developers money to get a game ported to their platform, and Notched trolled so much about the Wii U.
I don't think Nintendo changed that policy with MS/Phil Spencer, but I'm sure Microsoft and Nintendo could make other types of deals. For example fixing any legal work required for Rare Replay in exchange for Microsoft publishing Minecraft on the Wii U.
Regarding indie games in general, it's partly word-of-mouth between indie developers. The Wii U is now considered a good valid platform to publish games on, which is a huge change compared to what indie developers in general thought 1.5 years ago. It's also partly because of the Unity platform. Strangely enough, it might also have something to do with Dan Adelman leaving Nintendo, but that might just be a coincidence.
