What sort of controller support does this have? Any multiplayer?
Been watching video of this, and realized I haven't heard anything about either. I assume that NSMB style multiplayer is out or I'd of seen something about it by now, but does it offer turn based multiplayer like many a classic Mario sidescroller did?
@Morpheel: What're you talking about? I'm sure it's nothing-(sees @NintyMan's post) OH GOD! Yeah, that...that's pretty creepy. Anyways, using the glove because it blocks less of the screen.
There is nothing here...except for the stuff I just typed...
Ughh.... they really took all that extra time to make Slippy or Shiek as playable characters, created different hands for the stylus and didn't take an extra 30 minutes or so do make pallet swaps of Bowser Jr. as the Koopalings...... grinds my gears.
These will be the slowest four weeks ever. I wish I had the game now. I heard we can change the time on the Wii U to fast forward and just unlock all the items, which I'm sure everyone will be doing.
Yeah, I guess if Slippy will be in, it's possible, but I hope instead they are just pallet swaps of Jr. that you can use on all versions of Mario. They would compliment a stage better because I want to make themed stages based on characters (which I will do with the Mystery Mushroom for the original Mario Bros since I have lots of amiibos).
I think I am anticipating this more than I did when Smash Bros came out for the 3DS. I'm much bigger into creation than other types of games. The replay value for me will be good.
this is the society we're living in. Everything is deemed offensive if it's perceived a certain way, and you no longer need to win at something to be a winner. As long as you participated, you're considered a hero.
@dizzy_boy:
I think it has a lot to do with how we consume news these days. The more ridiculous what you're saying is the more traffic you'll get. Some of the most successful commentators around are on the edges, on both sides of the scale. Purely because people get worked up about the crap they say. Just accept it for what it is and don't give it oxygen, because your reaction there is precisely what they were after.
Also when that thing was written we already knew the game had cat-paws as an option. We now know it has all different types of hands, cats, dogs, Marios and otherwise. What's sad is that crap like this cheapens legitimate social commentary. Nobody is going to suffer even if their particular shade of skin pigment wasn't represented in a video game.....

An opinion is only respectable if it can be defended. Respect people, not opinions
It's just mind numbing how they would complain that the hand in Mario Maker isn't representing people of color yet there is no person of color in the Mario universe to begin with but somehow that's ok. It's the same stupid, Ana Skarsezian (i don't know if that's the correct spelling and don't care) argument when she said characters like Peach and Wendy Koopa are derogatory female stereotypes. Please go.
and yes, I've noticed them. GameXplain hasn't missed a beat with new videos and stuff. They claim that changing the time on your Wii and just fast forwarding it will unlock all the level creation tools and I hope that stays true when it comes time for release.
@Rexcalibr: Just to clarify, I was talking about the hand-cursor racism fiasco, not you and your koopalings.
But yeah, even channels besides GameXplain have been uploading Mario Maker levels. I keep soaking them all up and I can't get enough. I doubt Nintendo will do anything about the time travelling. I know that's the first thing I'll be doing when I get the game.
If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.
lol I know, the hand racism thing is old news anyway. The more videos I see on the game the more anxious I am to get it. I requested September 11th off and my supervisor approved it (they have no idea it's because of Mario Maker, I claimed I need to pick up a relative at the air port) so I will more than likely go a midnight release at Gamestop and stay up until the crack of dawn playing the game, pass out, wake up, go get a breakfast taco, eat, and then go back to playing the game.

I'm definitely requesting that day off too as soon as possible. My hype has grown to near-smash levels of hype. And I LOVE Smash.
Not sure if Best Buy will do a midnight release though....will they? Because that makes all the difference in which day I request off.

I dunno if this has been discussed yet, but I found this to be rather amusing.
Apparently there's a journalist by the name of Ben Gilbert that played a build of Mario Maker, upon noticing the hand on the game screen, he thought that it looked like a hand of a white female. He then complained to Nintendo that basically the game was sexist and racist because there was no option to change the gender or skin tone of the hand to represent the type of person that could be playing the game. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=mario+maker+is+r...
If he'd put a bit more thought into it, he could have added in agism and bias towards right handed people.
Personally, I would rather have the option to turn the hand off as I would rather see more of the play area while I'm trying to figure out where I want to place more set pieces.
I had seen it, yep. I seriously hope Nintendo didn't add the different hand options because of this idiot.
Unfortunately, a particularly dogmatic and fanatical group of people (I believe there's an internet acronym but I can't quite remember it ) have made the terms "racist" and "sexist" pretty much meaningless at this point. Men are taller than women. Therefore nature is sexist.
