I don't think anyone should be surprised. Miyamoto is FAR more conservative than Iwata and likely wouldn't even consider letting LPs slide. He was, after all, a part of Yamauchi's guard. Hopefully the next CEO will a tad more internet-savvy.

Which is quite odd considering NoA is embracing the Youtube crowd lately. Maybe they can sway HQ to drop the pointless resistance to Youtube.

Btw, I did argue against Youtube in the past, but now I see there really is no reason for Nintendo's actions.

YouTube's automation tools are causing this. Since the original Mario music is tagged as copyrighted music, YouTube auto-trigger movies with that music as Nintendo property. Obvious way around that would be to talk a bit during the background music.

They could always replaced the music with something else. (Example: FF music) Or just mute it.

Maybe because you didn't show off any revealing content or had the music in terrible quality?

Youtube needs to change this. It's causing more trouble than helping.

....The audio quality (and visual for PC/Wii U games) are always high quality. Done plenty of games, full play through of Bayonetta 2, started on Pikmin 3, even a couple of special levels from 3D World.

As far as I can see it is music only, and it still is an automated thing by YouTube. Everyone is acting like Nintendo themselves targeting these videos directly. Sure Nintendo is responsible for this, but in my opinion they have totally the rights to do so. The drama everytime that happens got really annoying. YouTubers should just stop making a fuss about it when it happens.
Really, if you really want to get annoyed, try using YouTube from Germany. A lot Videos and mostly NA streams are blocked for really no reason or reasons that can easily can be resolved by Google..

Youtubers only care about money when Google bought Youtube. Now Youtube is basically bait videos.

I have a Nintendo Partnership, so I haven't really run into any issues with this.

Fine, back to Mario Maker. The demo gave me little reason to be super hyped, but I'm still getting it day one.

@LztheQuack: It's NoJ that's keeping the restrictions up. NoA can't do a thing about the system until NoJ does something, as they can only recommend using loopholes and work directly with YouTubers for now.

The level editor looks so comprehensive. I'm pretty sure people will be able to make their own interpretations of loads of classic 3D Mario levels.

My Amiibo bundle is currently 'Awaiting Stock Pick' on the Nintendo UK Store. Praying this arrives earlier than Friday, I preodered as soon as I could.

Kinda sad that the enemies doesn't do their over world dances during the music anymore. in NWSBU; Koopa Toop and Goomba busting a move every now and then was cute but I think most gamers won't even notice. Not a big loss but something of note.
