I haven't seen much or any discussion about the battle mode in this game lately. I imagine the battle mode is going to be very good this time. I don't want to be restricted to teams only and I want to have an option instead. I also hope for huge battle courses like what Mario Kart Wii had.

What retro battle courses would you like? I'd like a battle course from Super Mario Kart, N64 Double Decker, GCN Luigi's Mansion, Wii Funky Stadium, and 3DS Wuhu Town.

N64 Double Decker & GCN Luigi's Mansion for me

I haven't really been keeping up on the MK8 news lately, so does anybody know if there have been any pre-order bonuses announced for the U.S.? I've Googled it and haven't been able to find anything but I just want to be sure in case I missed something.

Nope. Sorry,

the switch is pretty cool.

I'm not sure I'd agree this is a "great improvement". It looks like they removed a lot of the obstacles the original had, there's not as many Pokeys because of the underwater section, and I think they removed the tornadoes as well.

The tornado has been removed, regardless its still gonna be a good track to race on just, not as challenging as before :X

I don't know if this is off-topic, but I just pre-ordered MK8 Special Edition! SO MUCH HYPE!

Ah well, fingers crossed for playable Miis!

I will update this when Half Life 3 arrives. [Started 17/11/2015]

I think playable Miis in this title are nearly inevitable.

I've pre-ordered as well. It's also very safe to assume Mii's will be in the game. I'm gonna be sad if they arnt.

the switch is pretty cool.

Oh. It appears we're getting eight cups, again. Not surprising by any means, but good to know. I was kinda hoping for ten, considering the large number of N64 tracks returning, but it'll be fine without the extra two, of course. Just that greedy gamer inside me hoping for more things I'm not already aware of.

There's still a chance for a bonus cup, and perhaps they'll be DLC cups.

There's prolly gonna be 8 Cups then 2 bonus Cups after you beat the original 8. So... a total of 10.

I own a Wii U and 3DS. I also own a PS4!

@DestinyMan It's practically guaranteed that Yoshi Canyon and Sherbet Land are in the Leaf Cup. I think Tick Rock Click will be in the Lightning Cup, and I'm willing to bet the remaining Retro stage is either a Bowser Castle from SMK or the one from MK DS.

@destinyman, Bowsers Castle hasnt been confirmed at the moment, also not as retro course, so its not correct its in the special cup at the moment

@Dbwesz I believe they're making safe assumptions, it's almost guaranteed that Bowser's Castle will be a Special Cup course. If you want to split hairs, Rainbow Road hasn't been confirmed for the Special Cup yet.

There WILL be more than 8 Cups... I think. Super Mario 3D World has so many levels and kept giving levels even when I though the the game ended.
I hope the same happens to Mario Kart 8.
