Also, Battle Mode is addicting! No teams, frantic mode, hard computers, random courses, and it is insanely fun.
I do miss arenas, though.

Final Fantasy XIV (PC) | The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Switch) | Celeste (Switch)
So I played it for about 2 hours and...I cant say that I like it too much. I saw a ton of videos that convinced me to buy it, but Ive just been bombarded with items over and over again. My sister isnt feeling it either. My every victory has been by 2 seconds or less. As a Mario Kart veteran who's played countless hours of Double Dash and Mario Kart Wii, Im not totally on board with this. In all console Mario Kart games, my sister and I always take 1st and 2nd place; but this time around there is much more of a struggle. My fingers are actually sore from putting so much effort into drifting and any little thing to get ahead. (I only race on 150cc btw/ anything else feels much to slow; Honestly, 150cc feels a little slow too)
Still giving it a shot though. Ive unlocked all the cups of course, but Ive only spent about 2 hours with it. Ill give it more time tomorrow.
So your saying you like it less because it's more difficult? This does not compute.....
Really right!
So you're saying because you have to actually work at it you're not quite feeling it. All good things come from hard work. Maybe that means the game is just more balanced?! Kinda arrogant in a way to think you will just hop online and instantly own people. If you're still winning then what's the big deal if it's by 1 second or 10 tbh. Enjoy the game and realize that you might just need to put you're best effort forward every time. Plus 4 extra karts might have something to do with it.

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
Man, this game rocks! I played 50cc tonight: 8 cups with 8 different characters. 8 gold trophies with triple stars across the board. 32 first place finishes; 250+ coins, zero redos. Seemed almost too easy, even on 50cc, considering it was my first time playing.
I had one very close call with Toadette on Grumble Volcano. I literally won by inches...
Oh, by the way, I just destroyed a Blue Shell using a Super Horn for the first time. It was extremely satisfying.

I got the Super Horn, and was in 1st place.....but I got hit by lightning. xD
Anyways, done playing for the night, gonna upload a couple of videos...here's one of them for anyone that cares.

LMAO huh? Nearly everyone suggests not playing this game immediately on 150cc. NOT a good idea. Hopefully you'll grow to like the game. Its amazing.
It's really too bad about losing the arenas for battle mode. If they would have put some effort into creating some good arenas like Mario Kart 64, this game would be unstoppable. Maybe Nintendo will patch some in when they get the picture that many are disappointed. It's possible.

Whoa, whoa, whoa! No, that's not what Im saying at all. I'm saying if I popped in Mario Kart Wii or Double Dash, I could get first place fairly easily. And nooooo, I meant against computers, not other players. I don't play online because most of my life I've had unstable internet. I would never be so arrogant as to expect that I should always be in first in a race against strangers; that's just silly since you never know the skill of your opponents, and the many variables that stem from items and unforeseeable events. I have a stable wifi connection now, but as it stands, I still can't even decide on a Nintendo ID name so I can't play online anyway lol I am not a little displeased because it feels more difficult, the overall feel of the game didn't live up to the hype that everyone has generated for me, that's all I'm saying . It's just not quite as fun as I thought it'd be (Just so far!). It's definitely not a bad game or anything, but with the feeling I'm getting I doubt it'll be my favorite.
Also, I always race on 150cc. 50cc and 100cc feels so incredibly slow when you are used to fast paced races. I'm 20 now, but I remembering putting about 300 hours into double dash with friends when it came out, and about 100 into Mario Kart Wii, so I don't think expecting to jump right into 150cc was unreasonable. It is worth mentioning that as my sister and I were warming up today we did 50cc and it was like usual, being in 1st place by about 7 seconds or more. After the first cup, I begged her to let us go full 150cc lol But guys, I'm not bashing the game at all. I was only two hours in, so it has plenty of time to grow on me. I honestly just wanted to share my brief experience with it, I don't want to get jumped by you guys again lol I sincerely apologize if anyone was offended or anything, I definitely wasn't aiming to do that. Hope you guys continue to have fun!
question for all the people that own the german version of Mario Kart 8
im not entirely sure if there's any voice acting in the game (i don't think so?!), but is it possible to change the language (everything! text+voice (if there is any) to english?
or is it only german?
im asking because i buy my games from amazon.co.uk, i want all my games in english and therefore i pre ordered it from amazon uk, but it's supposed to arrive on june 4th -> meaning i won't be able to get Pikmin 3 as a free game
if i can change the language (text+voice) to english.. i can simply go to some store right now.. buy it and then return my amazon uk copy of the game
and: is there ANY difference between the german and the UK version of mario kart 8?
Anyone else enjoying this game too much to put it down? I've already completed all cups on 50cc with 3 stars, almost all on 100cc with 3 stars, unlocked every character and a bunch of customization parts.......and I still want to keep going. I don't need sleep, right?
Is anyone else having major connection problems when playing on online? I'm guessing these are just teething problems but good god the amount of Comm Errors I've been getting.. I just need to know if this is Nintendo's problem or something I need to fix.
