Barrier fairies aren't the ones being used in Fairy mode. What you have to do is pick a map with a fairy symbol in the treasures, then go to each keep and smash the brown pots until you get a fairy in a bottle.

A big tip for adventure mode: Treat the unlocks as rewards for doing a good job, and not as your only objective.
You'll have a much better time if you decide to play it as its own thing (an adventure) and not as "that annoying mode where you need to grind and go in circles to unlock <thing>".
Of course, you'll want to unlock everything, but if you focus too much getting that one thing on the corner of the map.... The trip will feel long and frustrating.

I'm currently on the " tower of the gods" part of the wind waker map. Almost done!... I just hope there's not much of a difficulty spike in the next map, I've heard it can be very rough.
@TingLz: The only thing that would be a struggle to put in the Wii U version would be the final Wind Waker Legend mode mission as all the characters are trapped in a corner of the map. Outside of that, putting the other Legends exclusive stuff into the Wii U version would be pretty simple without adding the Legends mechanics (owl statues, character change during the levels and My Fairy). So far the Wind Waker adventure map is reusing level types from the Adventure, Twilight and Termina maps in the Wii U version. The other Legend mode levels would be really easy to put in without issues. Of course everything else is in the Wii U version already.
I frankly think it's just a made up rumor. I don't see why would they randomly start making exclusive DLC again for an old game, specially when a newer version just came out.
In the case of the new WiiU dlc, they probably just make the characters on the WiiU engine first and then port them to the 3DS afterwards, so selling them on both systems is easy money.
@TingLz: The best situation would've been no exclusive content for either version. Let the actual contents be identical (as in both having Wind Waker story, Linkle's Story, Great Sea Adventure map, and the 4 season pass maps) but let the 3DS version keep the warrior change, My Fairy and Owl statues as those work better with a handheld experience.
I guess that would've been an unnecessary expense.
After all, that would involve making high quality versions of the new scenarios, making alternate versions of the new missions and reworking all the new adventure maps (since they'd need to have different contents).
A big update to a game that maybe doesn't generate much new money.
@Meowpheel: The Adventure maps wouldn't need to be different though. Adventure, Master Quest, Twilight and Termina Maps are identical in the 2 versions outside of unlocks and the exclusive character unlock squares in the Adventure map (character swap with whoever the unlockable character is). I ended up buying the Legends Collector's Edition guide for the art at the back (concept art and that kind of stuff) but I actually found the Twilight and Termina parts helpful for looking up A rank requirements (still aiming for Wii U version 100%) and the stages matched up exactly to the Wii U equivalents.
Yes, but wouldn't it be a disappointment if the new maps made for the new game ended up not using any of the new features and mechanics only because the content must be the same?

By adding the new features and mechanics with an update, the problem would be solved. The 3DS version would still have an advantage over the Wii U version because it's portable and less expensive.
@Randomname19: No it wouldn't because the difficulty would be made ridiculously easy in the Wii U version with adding the 3DS features.
I think it would be a simple case of they're not going to take advantage of the new features anyway in the new adventure maps so why not port the maps over. By take advantage of I mean, "this would be literally impossible to create if the 3DS features weren't present".
Don't know if anyone has noticed yet but found small easter egg in Hyrule Warriors Legends, when the mission is loading up and you get the "hints and tips" you can scroll through.
You can press L,R, B, X and Y buttons for the different tones of an ocarina.
You can even change the tone of the button by pressing up or down on the analogue stick just like in OoT except not as fluid.

LRYYX - Shame this doesn't warp you to Lake Hylia like on OoT

So I was thinking about it today.. There really isn't a solid reference to A Link to the Past. Most of the major LoZ games get a reference in this game in some form or another, obviously Skyward Sword, Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess, Majora's Mask, and now Wind Waker. The first two games are referenced through the classic outfit and the magical sword, and we even have Link's Awakening on the table with the inclusion of Marin. (Which I'm totally down for, and like, btw)
I wonder why LttP was just kind of skipped. They could have included Agahnim as a playable character, or King Zora, or even that guy in the desert who opens the chest for you. Of course you could point to other LoZ games like Minish Cap and the Four Swords games that didn't make it in, but I feel like LttP was a huge milestone in the series and deserves it's place in HW. What do you all think?
The original game didn't really focus on the 2D or portable games that much (outside of the original adventure map, obviously).
Anyway, many of the common elements and items used in this game made their debut in A Link to the Past. Like... The master sword, the hookshot, the hammer, the knights of hyrule, Zelda's lullaby, item bottles, green magic, Great Fairies, their music theme, etc.
Even if they take their forms from other games, it's ALttP's legacy
Okay, you guys are all right about what you said.. but I guess I was hoping for a more direct reference. That game meant a lot to me and I'm sad to not see it get more love.
So I was just thinking about the first Twilight Princess chapter in Legends mode today at work, and I have some questions, because this is confusing me a bit.
1.) How does Agitha even know about the Twilight? Regular Hylians in Twilight Princess (presumably including Agitha) aren't even aware that they became spirits in the Twilight Realm. And
2.) This one is not as big but, why would Midna pay a random butterfly a second thought in that scenario, much less think that it's poisonous? Just seems like a forced reason for Midna and Agitha to interact that doesn't make too much sense.
If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.
