I like to believe that those universes Cia congured into existence (the places that held the soul of Ganondorf) were more or less just "pocket" versions of the actual universes.... Like, places and people who look the same and behave similarly, but "frozen in time" versions of them, not the actual real things.
Like, Midna is not the actual Midna from TP, just a projection/"photo" of her imp self reflected into Hyrule by the powers of Cia, when she brought the realm of Twilight.
Kinda like bigger, more interactive versions of the photos from the Harry Potter universe.
Because crossover games are well-known for Tolkien-tier plots. Everything needs to be a magnum opus apparently.
^Being a cross over doesn't make it a non-plot hole, she's introduced as wanting her body back and talks about it which then gets dropped. If they didn't mention it I wouldn't have cared/noticed.

No, Cia transformed Midna into the imp form rather than she brought imp Midna into that universe. Liked I said Midna is angry and goes after Cia because of that but when Link and co pop up she drops it and remains in imp form for the rest of the story and even goes home without changing back. If she had accepted it from the get go or the makers didn't bring it up I wouldn't haven oticed or cared.
Actually, Midna is pretty certainly already an imp the first time she meets Cia.
It's entirely possible she simply assumed it was her fault after digging around and finding out she's the one who caused the whole problem.
Then afterwards, it's entirely possible she assumed that by defeating Cia as a team (with the power of frienship!) and solving the problem, she'd go back to normal, so she stopped complaining.

Unless it's changed in Legends Cia and Midna had already met when you get to TP parts and both characters say the same thing of Cia cursed Midna into imp form.
@arronishere: one stage from Cia's Tale shows Cia going to the Twilight realm to recruit some goons, imp Midna is already there fighting with Zant, and both behave like it's the first time they meet.
Furthermore, in Linkle's Tale they added an extra level where Midna goes back to her true form, but must give it up to save the day, so adding that to the story it's possible she resigned to a life of impness because of that.
Don't worry, Cia's Tale also added some other contradictions to the story... Like Volga's motivation to join Cia being entirely different from the previous "canon".

I dunno, I think that would cheapen the entire experience for me...
If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.
Oh Cia's Tale is a field trip of plot holes and contradictions.
Like the part where it shows that Lana was right outside Hyrule Castle having a full-scale battle agaisnt the forces of evil right before Link and Zelda joined the fight.
I guess after she noticed Link she teleported to the faron woods to become the leader of that army.
"From one of the portals, Cia began to sense a great power in the Era of Twilight. Intrigued, she set off to see whether it was be an ally that could be controlled, or an enemy to destroy. She traced its source to the Palace of Twilight, where Zant and Midna were both fighting. As Midna appears in her imp form, Cia had also transformed her sometime prior to the battle."
...So basically it's just a thing we're supposed to accept, lol
A bigger concern... why is Twilit Field the non-canon version? Or at least, from what I remember it is, since most of the field above Kakariko is to the east of Eldin Bridge, not the west, like in TP HD.
Could it be if you played the Wii TP version they were using the NGC version or vice versa?
Or Cia off screen used her magic to flip the world screen around after throwing a strop about stepping in Wolfo poo on the way to a battle.
I wouldn't have been able to notice the positioning of Hyrule Field. Honestly, Twilight Princess's environment looks so samey to me that's it's the only Zelda game I consistantly get lost in. Thank goodness for those portals.
Even now that I know it's supposed to be the same Hyrule Field from OoT, I can't see it. It's too drastically different...
EDIT: I take that back. I also got lost in Link's Awakening. It's the sole reason I never finished that game.
Well, it's technically always the same Hyrule. It just looks different every time...
In the case of OoT>TP, most of the geography coincides, loosely, only some places are switched around for the sake of... Just because.
The lake hylia is in the same place, the desert is in the same place, the castle is in the same place, faron woods is where the Kokiri forest was, etc.
