Wheelio. I beat all the expert ghosts in MKWii (Wheel) and MK7 (analog) and have never found a significant advantage either way. That said, I find the wheel to be about twice as fun. I twiddle around with analog sticks enough, the Wheel demands different muscles and is simply more engaging. Love the change of pace and hitting your line with the wheel is much more rewarding. I always embrace new, intuitive control schemes that make gaming more fun in some way.
I think this should've been posted in the Mario Kart 8 thread....
I personally don't see why. I'm curious to know controller preference, myself, and I don't see why I would have to wade through pages of posts to ask a simple, pertinent question.
I'm hoping to use the tilt controls on the gamepad. If I can't seem to get a feel for it however, I'll default back to the analog sticks on the gamepad.
Formally called brewsky before becoming the lovable, adorable Yoshi.
Now playing:
Final Fantasy XIV (PC) | The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Switch) | Celeste (Switch)
I'll just use my Gamepad for the offscreen, which I'm using a lot on Wii U lately. When I play on screen, maybe I'll use a Wiimote.

I'll most likely use the GamePad. I wonder if I can see what item my opponents that are far behind are getting while I'm leading the pack with that controller. Otherwise, I'll prefer the Wii U Pro Controller.
I'll do motion controls, first. Then I'll try Pro controller. Since this game supports motion+, it's pretty likely I'll just stay with the motion controls.
I've tested GamePad (using the sticks) as well as the Nunchuck in the store demo. Will test all the other options when I have the actual game and then decide.
