Why is everyone's first response always "send it in to Nintendo for repairs"
It costs a good $100+ not including the cost for shipping and not everybody owns a money tree orchard.

Update your internet router. The Wii U accesses the Nintendo Network on a consistent basis for things like Miiverse, SpotPass, or accessing the eShop on another device if you buy something. If your internet router can't hold a stable connection with the servers, it can freeze from not giving or receiving the information it needs to run those tasks.

Certain youtube pages are guaranteed to freeze my Wii U.

managed to fix it, had to delete the browser cookies...mmm...cookies...

Ithappens to me once in a while when i play goldeneye in wii mode, but thats it. I went searching for why, and apparently its a common problem with that game. It could be that internet browser just causes the system to freeze. I dont think your system is broke, just might be a problem Nintendo has failed to address.
