I don't see the original Classic Controllers being implemented in this way, considering those controllers have been long phased out in favor of the Classic Controller Pro. I don't imagine many people have the controller. Were the analogue shoulder buttons on that thing even used at all?

I'm pretty okay.

Sunshine, Luigi's Mansion, F-Zero GX, Wave Race Blue Storm, ... they must be borderline unplayable on Wii U without their analog shoulder buttons..

All Gamecube games with L/R analog functionality should never be released on Wii U with the current controllers. Not for money at least.
But maybe Nintendo does it anyway. Ppl out there want those games, they don't care about the supposedly broken/alternate controls.

I'm now glad to have a great original Gamecube collection. Same feeling when I was glad to have a great original N64 collection when Nintendo messed up N64 VC by stripping games of some of their features.

How shallow of you.

Nintendo's probably going to care about proper controls for GC games as much as they did for the N64 on Wii. Mario Kart 64, steering with the left stick and shoot with the L button? Sure, that's playable and even comfortable!
(that is, they'd have created a N64 Classic Controller, because nothing else can replicate that console's controller!)

Yeah, I think half of my problems with Sin and Punishment is how much it wasn't made with the GCN controller in mind...

also of course it won't, why do that when you can do an HD remake and sell it for a lot more money?

Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon works fine on the 3DS without analog shoulder triggers, so I think the original would work fine on the Wii U without them. But idk i haven't played the original in years so maybe you need the analog triggers for something in it, I can't remember.

But I would rather see N64 games before GC games, personally, and I loved the gamecube but N64 is the obvious choice IMO.

I still have my original classic controllers. Hopefully if they do bring gamecube to the Wii U VC I can use them. They should've just put analog triggers on the pro controller instead of making people have to buy yet another controller.

I could see them bringing GCN games to eshop at some point. I really want Mario Kart Double Dash, because I don''t have my original copy at the moment, because my sister took it.

Nintendo will probably just release the best Gamecube Titles as HD remakes (hopefully Mario Sunshine)

I thought the same thing would be amazing.

And then I found this!

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BS520SG/ref=oh_details_o0...

It converts your gamecube controllers into a Classic Controller (connects to Wiimote). Since many Wii and (now) Wii U game have Classic controller functionality, you can use your gamecube controllers on your Wii and Wii U with this device! Smash Bros, Mario Kart, etc.

F-Zero GX and Wave Race: Blue Storm don't make use of the pressure-sensitive feedback at all. I have both games, you accelerate with A as far as I recall and L/R are used as normals buttons to help make turns. I have Star Wars: Rogue Squadron II and it uses analog triggers to accelerate with a light press of R and use boost with an hard press. Could be easily assigned to R and ZR. I've never played either Super Mario Sunshine or Luigi's Mansion, which seem to be the games that use this feature the most, but overall, I think people are overestimating the impact of analog triggers in most games. It really isn't that big a deal.

Non sense, Sin and Punishment plays perfectly with the GCN controller. It's just a really challenging game.

Oh, F-Zero GX made use of the analog triggers. If you had accelerate mapped to the analog triggers, then it was analog. If you had it mapped to the buttons, it wasn't. Same thing with the slide. Most gamecube games would function perfectly fine without analog input, even if the game originally was designed with it, simply because the analog controls in those games were mostly for novelty and weren't very practical. Sort of like the 3D effect in 3DS games. Sometimes, it seems like the game kind of requires it, but at the same time, you could still play the game without it.

Metroid Prime used controls like this too... I'd love to get a Metroid Prime Trilogy HD remake crosses fingers

Bloom... Deal with it.

I think the way the Analog was used by the Gamecube could be emulated. I would prefer a real Gamecube controller available for such purposes though. (At £30 or less). Wish I could just buy the SNES Classic Controller still.
