Probably not Mario Party 1 due to all the lawsuits cause of the mini games and how you had to spin the analog stick to do them. I am not sure why 3 hasn't come out yet cause I have never played that one.

I'm not sure, really. It would be a bit strange for them to lead with Mario Party 2 and then release the original, though. Generally, the second is regarded as the best in the series so maybe they see no need to release any others.
These have been the top of my list for years. I was very excited when MP2 came out, as that was the one I didn't own in cartridge form. Still, Mario Party 3 is the best one in the series to me and even the original had some great stuff (with some infuriating stuff too..) so I'm dying to have them on the VC. There's plenty of ways to fix the Mario Party 1 issues:
A) Change rotating control sticks to bashing A like the next games did
B) Put some warnings on the eShop/game
C) Ignore it since today's control sticks should be much softer
or D) Remove the offending minigames as a last resort (I hate Tug of War and Pedal Power anyway)
Here's hoping Nintendo get onto releasing some N64 games soon. Please don't repeat the abysmal offering the Wii received in 6 years!
I think I have said this on another similar thread before, but who like a compilation Mario Party Collection on 2 discs?
I personally would love it! Nonstop Mario Party Marathon!!!
Mario Party 2 is pretty much Mario Party 1 with different boards and without the minigame adventure mode (Which was pretty awesome).
Most of the minigames are the same.
Not quite, it did introduce the whole item system and the Bank, while the recurring minigames changed from taking money from the losers to giving money to the winners. Plus the stars actually moved to different places on the map, rather than remaining in fixed places, which was a bit dull in Mario Party 1.
I really liked Mario Party 3. Lots of nostalgia. I had an N64 for a really long time (did not get a GCN until late 2004) and have a lot of love for it. I would love to see TONS more N64 titles, because that console has many of my childhood favorites.
Mario Party 3 was the best one I have to admit, they really should consider making an HD Collection of all 3 in one package and if it retailed for $20 it would sell like crazy. Would be a good way to test out their online mode as well.
We might see Mario Party 3 in the foreseeable future, since we did see Mario Party 2 on the Virtual Console before.
Mario Party 1? Forget about it. After all the hell those control stick rotation games caused (Tug O War, Pedal Power, Paddle Battle, etc) and the whole lawsuit thing, I think they're probably going to ending up being the reason Nintendo is never going to release the game ever again.
Bit of a shame though, most of Mario Party 1 was fantastic. It's just a few mini games are likely going to stop it ever being rereleased ever again.
Highly doubting 1, I suspect 2 because it was on Wii and is "easy" to bring over, 3, I'm doubting as well but seems more likely than 1. I'd buy 1 or 3 again in a heartbeat, since the other is on my Wii VC.
2 is not a repeat of 1 down to the key, there's many differences. /facepalm. There are other VC games that are more identical that they've released before.
The analog sticks on the Gamepad and Pro Controller are much better than the N64 controller and are likely not to cause blisters. So why not?
Exactly.
Because of that lawsuit? Perhaps the game is caught up in some sort of legal problems because of what Nintendo was told they had to do, which was release that little glove thing. Just because the sticks have improved, and the system it was born on is long dead, doesn't mean they can just go "lol!!! ok here it is again!" they may have a court order to not bring it out unless they edit it or do something to fix the blisters.
Of course they can do that if they wanted probably. Which up until recently they've touted their uneasiness for editing old games. Just because it appears to make sense to you why they should release it doesn't mean squat. Maybe they have themselves another reason to not bring it out.
@Yellowkoopa: Yes it was NA only, but they pulled what little there was left of Mario Party from all stores to prevent more issues before there were issues in other regions by then. Releasing it in a region where they didn't have an issue, could create a new issue on an old problem. When people sue there doesn't have to be logic, people obviously still sue over the Wii controls. Not saying that this is obviously the reason, just that it's a possibility and they probably would like to cover their butt on all bases.
Besides it's not like it's the first game that we can't tell what on Earth is going on. DKC, Sim City, Tetris, a bunch of other eShop games, there was never any official explanations. But it would be nice to hear something or just have it appear one day, probably with no explanation.
