Topic: Counting down to the Wii U launch! How are you making it through?

Life's going on as usual.

I'm fine with waiting a while before getting one.
@WingedFish Its got a 2013 release date on NoE's site. I don't know about other regions release date but I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't coming until next year for other regions too.

Well then, once more with pain and suffering.

Wii U shall be a blast! I have the Deluxe package coming; Nintendoland will occupy my time with friends and family. Along with a ton of Wii games have yet to comeplete as well.

I'm excited. How much varies from day to day, depending on how much I have myself occupied with.

But it feels great knowing I'll be able to pick a WiiU Premium package up on launch day along with NSMB.U. I'm going to try to do a black-out on the system and it's features after Nov. 18. I wan't to experience it all for myself when it launches here in EU on the 30th.

I don't get this. Makes sense for a new game but for the system itself? I don't see how there could be UI spoilers and if there can be it's not something I'd be worried about. Any post-launch details about how the eShop works or how MiiVerse runs will be interesting but I doubt they'd do anything to damage the experience.

Maybe that's just me though. Feel free to disagree with me.... but I don't get it

Well, I can tell you guys, I had a play of the Wii U over the weekend...

It's making the wait so much worse now! Ugh. It's awesome guys.

It's more of a personal thing.

I'm an information maniac. I usually go on Youtube, watch over 15 unboxing videos, menu/features walkthroughs, thoughts on [insert product here] videos etc.. I also read every article about the product and Google stuff about it from all kinds of news sites.

Before I even got to touch the 3DS I felt as if I'd used it before. That's no fun. I'll limit myself to Nintendo's own video/information feed with the WiiU.

I'm just waiting on them to detail the online stuff. Friend code? Multiple Mii accounts per system? Transferring the Virtual Console/WiiWare games over easily (DEMO IT). Voice chat/video chat feature, via demo, and it needs to be ready for DAY ONE. No excuses for not having it ready day one.

Detail the Deluxe Digital Promotion. Explain it. Prices for eShop games. Accomplishments? Achievements? Trophies? Coins? Details please. Not skimming over it.

I really, really, really want them to blow my expectations out of the water, and they have had 6+ years (considering they were so far behind with the GameCube, I don't even count those years) to get up to speed. There really is no excuse for the Wii U to launch, and for it not to have EVERY feature ready to go day one.

As long as they address the online before launch, it's still a day one buy. If they don't, I have some thinking to do.

meh i will only buy it if one of the follows is true

1: Release of pikmin 3 is one week away ( all in ninteys hands to at least give a single buying incentive )

2: Resident evil6 is released for it ( would be possible in near future )

3: Soon coming ZeldaU and / or MetroidU ( this is last because it wont happen any soon anyway - predicting 2014+ )

until then im happy with gorgeous 3ds games and past blockbusters from da wii ( mp trilogy for ex )

Haven't been so disinterested in a new nintendo as I am about wii u for some reason, mostly that the launch titles don't appeal to me not that I'd say they looked bad, just not the kind of titles I'm willing to buy a whole new console to play them on right now, plus the fact there are still a few wii games I could get real cheap just got sakura wars recently and that's kept me fairly occupied, might get the wii u next year depending on how its library is looking then if not I might try another console either current or whatever is announced to be coming next.

I'm doing quite fine actually. Counting down the days is the worst thing I could do, makes time go infinitely slow. Besides I'm on holidays right now and I don't even know what day it is most of the time, so time passes pretty quickly. When school starts in a week I'll be pretty busy with exams and all that so the next month and a half shouldn't be too hard to bear. I've already paid off my pre-order for a Deluxe Pack and still have to decide whether I will buy NSMBU for launch or buy Paper Mario instead and get NSMBU for Christmas. Annoying I'll be away for the entire week that the Wii U releases on so that adds more time to me being able to play it and so less interest in the actual launch day itself. I'm looking forward to playing some home console Nintendo goodness that I've been missing for a while as I haven't played my Wii much lately and to give my 3DS a break from being my main console.

I have not played Galaxy 2 yet and have only sorta began DKCR with my wife. She likes NSMBW and Kirby Return's To Dreamland (still haven't finished yet) but I don't think she was a big fan of DKCR. I will probably have to finish that up solo. Plus, I have to finish Skyward Sword which I'm like a 1/3 of the way through and Muramasa! I think I can save Muramasa for the Wii U though since it should look good through HDMI. However, I would like to finish Skyward Sword before the magical November 18th date!

Trying to avoid the suffering of the lack of capcom wii u support is how I'm making it through! And no I'm not interested in monster hunter 3 ultimate!
Ton's of people also say that capcom & nintendo have a close relationship but this article says other wise.

Pretty fine since it barely interests me.

Knowing that by the time I put money down for it, most of the good games will be $30 or lower makes the wait pretty easy for me.

It's ok, I'm not getting it day one, but I want it before Xmas so I can DL some good games

I'm not even interested in it right now. Why should I be excited about such a lame console?

I have Pokemon Black 2 to help me tide over. But how long will it help...
