I played BotW on Wii U and it doesn't get much better than that. But also Nintendo Land, Mario 3D World, Splatoon, Mario Kart 8, Yoshi's Woolly World, Lego City Undercover, Stealth Inc 2...

Thank you Nintendo for giving us Donkey Kong Jr Math on Nintendo Music

I'd say Breath of the Wild, Xenoblade X, Mario Kart 8, Bayonetta 2 and Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE. They're certainly the ones I played most, although they've all subsequently been ported to the Switch.

In terms of the games that you can still only play on the Wii U, I'd go with Nintendo Land, Affordable Space Adventures, Paper Mario Color Splash, the original Splatoon and Wind Waker HD.

Nintendo Land, Yoshi's Woolly World, the original Mario Maker, Splatoon, and (controversially) Paper Mario: Color Splash are the best games on the Wii U that have yet to be ported to Switch. I still return to them now and then.

BotW is obviously up there from a technical perspective but I'm not sure why you'd bother with it on Wii U given the Switch version (and especially the Switch 2 Edition) had a performance advantage. And the same would be true for a lot of the other games I would have rattled off back in the Wii U era

I would lean towards games best played or only playable on Wii U. Nintendo Land is comfortably up there and isn't really playable elsewhere so that's where I'd start. Affordable Space Adventures is another Wii U only game. I would also say that Wind Waker, Twilight Princess and Pikmin 3 are best played on Wii U because of the image quality and/or the GamePad additions

But broadly outside of those I don't really see any reason to revisit it. For the most part these games are better played elsewhere
