@NintendoByNature It is awesome ... I used to beat it every other day as a kid along with Ninja Gaiden 3 on my bootleg console.

The strategy guide for Breath of Fire Dragon Quarter arrived today. It seems, that I was almost at the end of the game, when I played it many years ago. Even so, this will be a useful guide, because Dragon Quarter is quite challenging. And maybe, I will be in the mood for some extra content.
Are You Smarter Than 5th Grader NDS.
A very short quiz game that I can answer all the questions by closing my 3DS to find the answers from my handphone if I have no idea about the questions.
I'm not American people, I have no idea about their history and their measurement unit, they don't use metric system for the questions.
Well, I have to "cheat" to win the Million Dollar prize. 😅
@NintendoByNature@Zuljaras I remember always renting that game as a kid. I was a huge Darkwing Duck fan back then. The game itself always felt like a Mega Man clone to me which isnt a bad thing since I love classic Mega Man games, it also came no surprise as it was done by Capcom. Sadly I never finished then game as I would always get to Steelbeak but I couldnt figure out how to beat him. Maybe I would have figured it out if I owned the game.
While I do have this game on the Disney Afternoon Collection on my Series X and PS4, it just feels off playing them them with a Xbox or PS4 controller. I hope that the rumors are true that its comeing to the Switch then maybe it wont feel so often. Either that or I should get it on P.C. and get a couple of Bluetooth NES like controllers.
@Tasuki I would LOVE a physical edition of that. Instant purchase

LOZ: A Link Between Worlds - (3DS)
Near mint, CIB. Not that the actual cover art isn't anything to write home about. But it's essentially a brand new Zelda experience for me so i figured I'd get it complete instead of buying it loosey goosey.
The 'Playable in 3D or 3D' text banner at the bottom kind of kills it imo.
@NeonPizza Right. Still its an awesome game a worthy sequel to Link to the Past. Still annoys me that I haven't been able to finish that game and probably wont be able to till Nintendo ports it to Switch.

Ya, I'm really excited to see how it makes use of the Stereoscopic 3D Effect, and just because it's literally a direct continutation of ALTTP. Surprisingly, I missed out on this one. I was knee deep into the 3DS's library within it's first two years, but shortly after that the magic started to fade and it's library became less and less interesting as time went on into the dark days of the WIi U. Overall, it failed to live up to the DS Lite's library before it, and many future titles weren't even supporting the 3D effect.
The 3DS's S3D, Mixed Reality Mode, Swap Note & exclusive handheld Virtual Console were amazing though. It's my favourite Nintendo handheld in terms of it's unique exclusive features, but it just doesn't have enough great games imo. Maxing the S3D slider on the launch 3DS was pure magic back in 2011. it was like peering through a tiny little window into a minature world.
I still have OOT(3DS) & Super Monkey Ball 3D(Those S3D diorahma world animations were pretty jaw dropping, mediocre game aside. The 3D Effect saved it.), had PilotWings Resort(Loved it. Without the 3D Effect it's not even worth playing), Kid Icarus: uprising, Star Fox 64, Resident Evil: Revelations and many more. But i foolishy sold them all including my two launch Aqua Blue 3DS's. One of which, had all of my awesome 3D illistrated Swap note messages which i shared and created between a handful of NL users back in 2011 & 2012.
And you know what, I still haven't scratched the surface with ALTTP. I was amazed by it's visuals coming from both LOZ & Zelda II back in the late 80's/early 90's on NES. But by 1992, i just didn't have the patience or attention span to really hunker down and get into adventure puzzle games. Not until Resident Evil 1 debuted back in 96'. But back to ALTTP, It was one of those situations where I'd instead just watch my best friend play it, sitting back in pure amazement as to what i was seeing and hearing Coming form the former two 8-bit LOZ's. I ended up buying it on the Wii's VC in the late 2000's, but I put it off along with...Drum roll, Super Metroid. I have it now on the original cartridge, and I yet I still keep putting it off. lol
When it comes to the Zelda franchise, I've finished LOZ, Zelda II, Link's awakening DX, Phantom Hour Glass and made it half way through Wind Waker(GCN) before calling it quits. Zelda II is the most nostalgiac, but Link's Awakening(on the Super GameBoy, or DX on a GameCube Player) and the severely underrated PHG are my two favourites.
If Wind Waker(GCN) had the Wii U versions Sail-dash mechanic and Hero mode just to spike up the difficulty I may of stuck around. I don't know, I just never really liked the 3D zelda's anywhere near as much as the Top down. Besides, not even the Wii U version of Wind Waker holds up all that well. Controls are too clunky, stiff, slow & restricted compared to what we're currently getting with BOTW & TOTK.
@NeonPizza Yeah A Link Between Worlds is my favorite 3DS game. I still have my copy just dont have a 3DS to play it on and right now 3DS are stupidly expensive. So unless the price drops for a used one or they port it to the Switch I am stuck looking for a playthrough of it on YouTube to see the ending.
As Zelda's go I finished LoZ, ALttP, OoT. Zelda II I had as a kid but damned if I ever beat it lol. To be honest I am not big on the 3D Zeldas I played games like Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword but I get bored of them after a few hours.
Right now I am currently playing Echoes of Wisdom which I am really enjoying. I know that its connected to ALttP cause it uses the same world map but I just dont know how. I need to get the Link's Awakening Remaster at some point too. I beat the original GB version on the Zelda Game and Watch a few years ago which I enjoyed too.

The issue i take with most of the 3D Zelda's, is that they normally don't throw you right into the adventure to figure stuff out for yourself. The turtorials, Constant character bantering, slower paced less zippity cumbercome and clunky controls(At least with OOT, MM & WW) always threw me off. Skyward Sword is the prime example. I can't stand the first hour or so of that game.
Haven't giving EOW a whirl just yet, but I'm definitelty intersted. LA Remake, at least on NS2(NS1 version has frame rate stuttering issues up the ying yang. couldn't do it) is fantastic, with it's almost rankinbass toy aesthetic, but I've already finished LA DX. So the drive to push through with the remake is almost null, even with the drastically imroved visuals, soundtrack etc. The NS2 version of LA Remake definitely makes LA DX obsolete. No point in playing that on a GameBoy Advance Player + GCN anymore, or GBA SP(Thanks to the backlight)
And ya, I couldn't even make it half way through Zelda II growing up. I didn't beat it until my mid 20's on the Wii's Virtual Console. Shadow Link was such a pain at the very end. Same thing applies to the OG, LOZ. Finished that one around the same time. Suprisingly i found the second half a lot less memorable. The dungeon designs were too limited and bland in color and design thanks to the limitations of the NES. It all started to look the same, and I hated how they started to reuse some of the bosses. Still a great game, and dungeon music is so huantingly iconic. I'll never forget it at the age of 6 back in 1990.
Still, the way I see it. ALTTP & LA(NS2) make LOZ 1 feel obsolote just as LA Remake(NS2) makes DX feel pointless to jump back into other than for pure nostalgia.
Oh and how did you feel about OOT back in the later 90's? I rememember my brother rented it around the time it came out after getting the automic Purple N64 console bundle for Christmas. The opening cut scene blew us away, including the first 30 minutes. And i say first 30 minutes, because we didn't stick around for too long. I wasn't jiving with the controls, and it just felt way too vast in scope for my weak sauce attention span during that time. It's color palette was very...Muddy? Lots of dark greens and browns, where as ALTTP had an array of bright vibrant colours, it felt like were playing a cartoon back in 1992.
@NeonPizza Growing up my brother had LA DX on the GBC and I remember watching him play it I actually never got a chance to play it fully. I remember messing around with it now and again but didnt get into it. I remember just being amazed with the colors that the GBC could put out and still look good. The colors didnt look washed out like most Game Gear games did and you didnt get that werid blur smear effect either when stuff got to fast. Back on track though I didnt even finish LA till like I said a few years ago on the Game and Watch.
Echoes of Wisdom uses the same art style as the LA Remaster so if you liked those graphics you will like EoW.

lol Ah the Game Gear, my parents picked one up for my brother and I right before our trip to Disnely Land when Toon Town debuted & Disney's Alladin was all the rage back in 1993. Like many have already mentioned abizillion times by now. GG was a total bettery slayer. lol Had similar nasty motion ghosting like the original 89' GameBoy, and i actually hated it's chip tune audio style. We ended up getting Sonic 2 & Streets of Rage. I enjoyed them both for their time, by my GG honey moon faze wore off pretty quickly.
It just didn't land anywhere near the same as the GB did with Super Mario Land, Kirby's Dreamland, Dr. Mario, LOZ: LA, just to name a few. But thanks to the GameBoy Color's improved LCD display, the 89' GB's motion ghosting was no more, including the monochrome pea soup green visuals.
My cousin had a Kiwi Green GBC at the time. Dandylion Yellow, Grape Purple & Berry Red all looked awesome too, but i never had one of my own. in terms of Handhelds that i owned personally when they came out, i went from Game Gear to GBA(Indigo), DS Lite(White) & then the Launch 3DS(Aqua Blue), then i winded up getting two GBA SP's(One in black, and the other had an NES-theme) in my mid 20's just to play GB/GBC games in handheld.
And isn't OOE like a Link's Awakening and TOTK merger? It plays out like a top down Zelda, but instead of swiping with your sword you summon different enemies to attack and yadah yadah. I'm way more interested in it than i am with TOTK that's for sure. I barely have the patience for traditional styled 3D Zelda's, TOTK would just kill me.
@NeonPizza I loved OoT growing up. When it came out I was a young adult, fresh out of high school so I was able to snag one of the limited edition Gold Cartridges, which I still have to this day. My friends and I would take turns on that game playing from sun up till sun down on the weekends without a care in the world. The color pallette didnt bother me we all like the darker colors as it made the game more grown up. Add that the general darker tone that OoT had and it just felt like the next step for Zelda games. Probably after ALttP its probably my favorite Zelda game. I remember being amazed just running around places like Hyrule Field and Zora's Falls and just taking the sites in. Exploring Hyrule in full 3d. Definitely one of my favorite gaming moments.

@NeonPizza I am not sure a out EoW being a cross between Link's Awakening and Tears of the Kingdom cause I refuse to play ToTK or BotW. For me those are the most unZelda like Zelda games ever made. They just feel like a mod of Skyrim or another open world fantasy game and dont get me started on the weapon durability.
Echoes of Wisdom does play more like the traditional top down Zelda. To me it reminds me of A Link to the Past world wise and no its not.because they use the same map. They do tell you the location of a couple dungeons like they did in ALttP but there's no sense of urgency to go to them your free to explore the world if you like and can take on the dungeons in any order you want like ALttP.
Yes unlike Link Zelda summons creatures and objects called Echoes to fight for her and use to get past puzzles. So for.example.when you defeat a Moblin you get a Moblin echo and you can summon it to fight for you. At some point you do get an ability to use a sword like Link but its limited and honesty I find it to play the game that way, I only use it when I am in a pinch. Part of the charm in this game is that you get so many Echoes which means there are so many ways you can tackle a puzzle. For example to active a switch that is out of reach you can summon a creature echo and have it hit it, or you can create a jar echo and toss it at it or create a stack of crates or tables to reach it yourself, the possibilities are endless.
The companion in this game isnt intrusive either unlike say Navi or Fi from other Zelda games. Yeah it will point out things but so far it only does it once when you first come across a new object and that's it (unless of course you yourself ask it to repeat itself) it doesnt constantly nag like Navi did.
I am really enjoying it and highly recommend it especially if your a fan of 2D Zeldas particularly ALttP or LA. Its probably the best new Zelda game since A Link Between Worlds.

Saw Star Fox Assault for $45, seemed like a good deal. One of these days I plan on playing through the Star Fox series. And by that, I mean the original, 64 (still need a copy of 3D or the original), Zero, and Guard. Star Fox 2 and Command aren't high priorities, and as much as I would play adventures, I don't like Krystal's original design. Really excited to play Assault, even if it's short from what I've heard.
As for the other two games, those were merely bucket list items. Brawl is my favorite game of all time, and I've been meaning to get a copy again with that specific cover on it, since that's the cover on my original copy when I had it growing up. Sonic Lost World on Wii U is actually the only home console mainline sonic game I've never played (not counting Shadow the Hedgehog, which is a weird in between, and I bought the 3DS version of Lost World a long time ago shortly after I had bought my 2DS). Curious to see how I feel about this game.
