Topic: Who’s your favourite ever Mario character?

Can be anyone from any game, Donkey Kong series counts too. Give reasons why if you want!

Mine is super obvious from my username and profile pic. Awww he’s just so cute! I absolutely love him. Besides some games and toys, I even own a Yoshi onesie and slippers and I love wearing them

I used to think I couldn’t decide my favourite between Mario, Luigi, Yoshi and Toad, I thought they were all joint top and I loved them all equally. But my boyfriend made me realise Yoshi is and always has been my number one favourite. He can just tell, I always want to play as Yoshi on any Mario and Sonic Olympics, Kart and Party games

Special mention to Luma, they are so cute too! And Toadette and Plessie. And Rosalina is cool

I was thinking of finding out most people’s favourite by doing a voting game, like a knockout tournament thing. But I don’t know if forum games are even allowed on here. So I settled on asking it like a question for now

Can’t wait to find out who most people choose as their favourite from this!

Shy Guy because of a few reasons:
1. He's got a great yet simple design.
2. He's my main in Mario Kart.
3. He's what we all feel on the inside.

I prefer Luigi than Mario as he is taller than his big bro. And he looks better in Green color scheme.
But for Olympic Games, I prefer the Normal people version (Tokyo 2020) on PS4 as the peoples look like The Sims 4 characters.

Mario himself, he's the best character that ever was after all. Luigi being a close second.

Dimentio and Doopliss from the Paper Mario series, though any Paper Mario villain will do.

I know it's a generic answer, but Mario will always be my favorite character. He did wonders to shape my childhood and myself as a gamer, after all! I had a ton of memories with many of his games, and it helps that he's such a cheerful and wholesome guy, too.

Any of the bosses from Mario 2. I would love to see them all come back. Give Bowser a break and bring Wart and his entourage.
I realize they weren't originally Mario characters, but others from that game have been inducted as Mario mainstays.

I've always liked Yoshi and in more recent years, Princess Peach. I would main both characters in the Mario Kart games. Really have no real reason other than I find both characters cute, and fun to play as when the option is there. Peach's gliding ability helps in Super Mario 3D World quite a bit too.

There are so many to choose from with Mario, especially if we include all the franchises that have spun off from Mario like Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Wario Land, WarioWare, etc. I'll stick to the main platforming games, RPGs, sports and Mario Kart.

My favorite character overall would be Bowser Jr. If he's in the roster, Bowser Jr. has been my preferred character in Mario Kart games since I first got into the series with Double Dash. Second would be Fawful from the initial Mario & Luigi trilogy of games. He is the stand out character to me among a fantastic cast of characters from one of my favorite RPGs, Superstar Saga.

For third and fourth, I could flip flop these two on any given day, but for now I'll say Rosalina and then Waluigi. Rosalina is my favorite princess in gaming, narrowly ahead of Princess Zelda. Super Mario Galaxy was a great introduction to her character, and since then she has developed appeal through play whether that be in 3D World, Mario Kart titles or Smash. Waluigi has an attitude that I really like and love the Bob-omb special he has in Double Dash. My best impression of Waluigi though came in Super Mario Strikers. Again, love the ***hole attitude he's got and that thick slice of arrogance.

Boo, Dry Bones and Shy Guy would all be perfect to close out a Top 5 of mine. Right now, I think I'm leaning the most toward Boo. Boo to me is a Shy Guy without a mask. They approach who has caught their eye, but if they're caught, they freeze up in embarrassment. They're generally very awkward, but when the time is right they can be very expressive.

While making this post, I've been thinking both of Vivian and Rawk Hawk from TTYD. Maybe these two are my honorable mentions for today, I don't really know.

This reminds me, crazy, big balls Lemmy Koopa is definitely an honorable mention if not among the best. Now I'm not so sure about Boo.

Probably Bowser. Out of the most used Mario characters, he's the one they've done the most interesting and fun things with beyond his basic NES era non-personality.

I really loved Kamek as a kid, i remember thinking that she was the true mastermind behind everything the Koopas did and her magic always seemed limitless and creative in what it could do.

Other than that, Luigi is pretty awesome with lots of hidden potential and generally being one of the more likeable brothers in my opinion due to having flaws.

I also found Antasma a really cool designed villain and hope they make him return in a future Mario Rpg

Donkey Kong is just awesome, I feel like I have to vote for him. I think he can be really funny in his games, and the games he's in are really really good. I also love his character designs and his voice.

I would say donkey Kong but I don’t consider him a Mario character. Think I got to go with Larry. You know the koopaling

I really like Ludwig, and for some reason, I've nicknamed him "Weet-Bix" (after the Aussie breakfast cereal of the same name).

I'll almost never play as Mario in any game where there is a character roster though.

I am quite fond of Wario, Toad, Yoshi, and Peach as well (Peach was my main in 3D World).

Boo. I always choose Boo in Mario Party if it's an option.
Otherwise, Waluigi.

Don't make me choose! It would be quicker to list the ones that aren't my favourites (but I don't want to get negative). The beauty of Mario's universe is that there's such a large but also well established supporting cast so there's something for everyone.

Although I think it's pretty clear from my nickname and avatar that I have a soft spot for a certain space traveller.

I have always been obsessed with Skeletons ever since I was young and Paper Mario Dry Bones are the cutest.
