Hey, my Sega Genesis just arrived a few days ago, along with a bunch of games. I'm thinking of getting a few more to round out my collections. Does anybody no of some good:
Top-Down adventure game that isn't Beyond Oasis? Fighting game that isn't Mortal Kombat? Turn-Based RPG that isn't a Phantasy Star or Shining game? licensed game? Run & Gun that isn't Gunstar Heroes?
All for the Sega Genesis and preferrably not on the VC.
And I suppose I could look for a good Side Scrolling adventure game, but I have the feeling that I already got one.
www.sega-16.com has quite a large list of reviews for games. www.videogamecritic.net has some nice reviews as well.
Some good games (i'm not a RPG person, so I won't be listing those) Dynamite Headdy Decap Attack Ristar Streets of Rage 1/2/3 Weaponlord The Punisher Lightning Force Ropocop Vs. Terminator Outrun, Outrunners Splatterhouse 2/3 Castlevania Bloodlines Contra Hard Corps
Yes! I'l only tell you ones not on VC though. You definitly, DEFINITLY want to get Contra Hard Corps. You should also 100% absolutly get Flashback and Rocket Knight Adventures. Those are cream of the crop titles right there, should keep you entertained for a long time!
I also remember playing this game called Marko, where you control a kid who attacks enemies and does tricks with his soccer ball. I had fun with it when I was little.
For a licensed game, I've always enjoyed Tiny Toon Adventures: Acme All-Stars. It's sort of an arcade take on basketball, soccer, bowling, obstacle course, and whack-a-mole with Tiny Toons characters complete with wacky special moves. Think 16-bit Mario sports games with the Tiny Toon franchise instead of the Mario franchise.
Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

I totally forgot about Flashback! The Sega CD version was way better, but I can't afford one of those things, so I might just settle with the Genny version. And I was thinking of getting Contra: Hard Corps, but I've a feeling that it'll come out on the VC soon enough, so I'll wait. I got 800 points just waiting for it.
You should try Cool Spot. Okay, so I only played the SNES port, but it must be similar to the MegaDrive original.
Oh, I remember Cool Spot! It was an okay game, but kinda generic. A game I'd be fine with emulating, but not high on my buy list.
Marko, on the other hand, is totally out of left feild. Like, outside of ROM sites and a picture on Gamespot, I can't find a site that gives me any solid info on it.
i grew up with a genesis so i can give you a few... Streets of Rage 1/2/3 the valis series including syd of valis ghouls n ghosts strider body count and teenage mutant ninja turtles: hyperstone heist

As @ogo79 said, the SNS-RZ-USA is a prime giveaway that it's not a legit retail cart.
And yes, he is (usually) always right, and he is (almost) the sexiest gamer out there (not counting me) ;)

Holy crap, I missed your first post somehow. I looked up Desert Demolition, and it looks really freakin' good, and apparently it's really cheap and easy to get ahold of, so I'll totally be getting it. Thanks, dude!
Where the hell did my post go on this? I quoted your starting post and listed a couple ideas. : I think I listed Contra and Castlevania to one question, mentioned any Disney' Movie title as a safe bet as they were done better on the Genesis for some sad reason. I also said as far as platformers go, too many to list from Aero the Acrobat up through Vectorman1 and 2 to choose from.
